There was something about how father controls the narrative and the framing of father's narrative
there was something about how Father framed the narrative, he portrays himself as a victim who suffered from heaven but when you look closely he was also the perpetrator. when he speaks he portrays himself as a victim of heaven we see him crying over Kaya's body but when we get the father's flashback we get the truth.
this panel demonstrated father's main flaw in how his own actions drove Kaya away which led to her death something he had a part in but doesn’t admit. He shifts the blame on the gods for killing her when he himself shares the same blame as driving her away. As someone once pointed out he's unrepentant of his own actions and that is what pushed Kaya away.
we get to know just how messy father's narrative he only thinks positively of someone if things favor his own narrative. there are cracks in father's narrative seen when others don’t do what he wants. This can be seen in his want for approval of Kaya
Did you draw this to make me happy? Because it super duper makes me happy
Yes! For everyone who wanted to se this <3
So I know it was mean of fujisaki to yell at hagusa/Yukine but I honestly think that when Yukine was in that state it genuinely messed with fathers head. Like he couldn’t think clearly and that is number one in a fight for him, because he’s a sneaky lil rat and uses his brain over actual fighting. So when Yukine got in that state he can’t sting father and we are not quite sure what type of memories he gets from the shiniki he names with the brush BUT they definitely have a mental connection and I think Yukine tends to be incredibly emotional in a very powerful and kinda mind jumbling way. His emotions (when strong enough) seem to override the emotions and thoughts of that god. Always thought yato was being dramatic a little bit because yknow it’s yato but it seems to be actually debilitating to the receiver of the emotion ,I know about the whole shiniki taking a toll on their health but this seems more, and only happens when he feels extreme emotions. And honestly I think father was legitimately scared and upset that Yukine could do that to him and he lost it for a moment.
What I thought the current arc would be like:
What I got instead:
Can we talk about how absolutely stunning the artstyle of Adachitoka is turning over the years??? I know this gets commented a lot but I still can't get over how beautiful every pannel always looks. And how when you think it can't get prettier somehow it gets even better every passing month. Like look at her. How does Hiyori look so beautiful in this pannel. It's just- *cheffs kiss*. Breathtaking.
Took my beautiful pride and joy porcupine hafuri sunshine son out fishing today. We haven't eaten for three days. Arigato Yukine you're the best I LUV U SO MUCH ME AND HIYORI ARE SO PROUD OF U.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM FUJISAKI SENPAI HE'S BAD INFLUENCE
In the past whenever Yukine was grieving he stung Yato. Right now after learning bits about his past he went into despair yet again but by the looks of it he hasn't stung father yet. It could also be that his emotional state is not yet at the level where he could blight himself and his master or is it one of the side effects of being named by Koto no ha? He could still sting Yato but not the trash dad because he named him with the brush? Oh Yeah, how could I forget, That was the very reason Ebisu went to the underworld so he could name ayakashi without getting blighted.
