Your vision cleared slowly, the supposed fog that encased you before you got here now seemingly clear. You stared straight down seeing your own hands in your lap before looking up in a panicked manner to see where you are. Ouch, yeah maybe your neck didn't like sleeping like that.
Nonetheless, you couldn't regnognize your surroundings. You sat at a dining table, encased with extravagant food and beatiful black flowers serving as decorations. A empty chair, it's wood engraved with a beatiful flame pattern matching some banners on the walls. The air felt heavy, especially with no one around to explain if this was just a bad dream or something. Altough if a dream, it's a pretty luxurious one, judging by the food.
Your muscles felt heavy as you tried to move to stand up, having a familiar feeling of dizziness creep in. Why was this familiar? You don't remember. Infact, you don't even remember what you were doing before this. You vaguely remember a name tough. Just one that wasn't yours; Constance. The name burned in your mind like a scar, mixing with the nausea and your body started shivering; not because you were cold, no. Infact, it was quite warm... A bit too warm even.
No, you were shivering out of fear. You didn't know from what. Like your body knew something your mind wasn't aware of yet. "...My, My. You're awake earlier than I tought. Oh, sit down again I must insitst." A gentle touch on your shoulder pushed you down again (which was easy considering your state). You were so hazy, the cold touch being like heaven to your fever like state, you seemed like a child wanting to grasp for the touch, the logical part of your brain turned to mush by the sweet chilling touch as the feeling of nausea vanished, replaced by the longing of this mysterious woman.
Gosh she looked beatiful. What aeon gazed at you for you to deserve the company of someone this elegant? Wait, wait, wait... You quickly slapped yourself awake, reminding yourself that she might be dangerous and you don't know where or why you are here.
The clicking of her heels echoed in your eyes as she sat on the empty chair opposite of you, taking a generous sip of what you deemed to be wine all while holding intense eye contact while you seemed t be avoiding her gaze instead looking at her horns and the hat, regnognizing the flowers on it as the ones that served decoration to the food.
She let out a chuckle, setting the glass down again as her face went to rest against her hand and a smile came on her pale face. "Help yourself." The woman said in a teasing yet demanding way, gesturing to the food.
Stranger danger...but to be fair, she would have probably already poisoned you if she wanted you dead. Confusion grew in your mind as you reluctantly took some of the food on your plate, hoping to ease your mind from the staring figure on the other side of the table.
"...Where am I and who are you?" You pushed, trying to make it clear that you weren't beating around an answer, but honestly? You regretted it by the menacing smile of the woman gave you, looking almost...satisfied by your answer? Was she enjoying this?
"You and I are partners. You don't remember? Maybe I'll have to refresh your memories, hmm?" She smiled, altough it made you feel more threathened if anything- No, something was off. Her touch seemed way too unfamilar for her to claim you're partners, she seemed to...dangerous and sinister. She's lying. And if not, something else was off.
"No...No, I don't know you..." You said, trying to sound comfortable in your words but failing. The silence that followed was defeaning; her smile didn't vanish but definetly turned a bit less...manic, the cello that played in the background that you didn't even notice until now seemed quieter, as you just stared straight ahead.
...
...?
...!
You felt the air in your lungs leave, your vision blur with a familiar fog. Your eyes suddenly felt heavy, about to pass out. You haven't even touched your food yet, so it wasn't that. Was this the same dizziness from before returning? You gritted your teeth, trying to conceal your weak state as you muttered a pathetic "...you're l-..lying...".
A sigh mixed with a breathless chuckle escaped her; yet there was no humor in it. "Every time." She started, taking one of the black dahlias on the table, spinning it gracefully in her hand. "I try a new approach. So why don't you belive me? Is your ordinary life this much worth?"
"You're cra-" "No, I'm not." She interrupted, standing up from her chair in a harsh manner, making you flinch in your overly weakened state. Her smile was nowhere to be found in her usual demeanor. "This is the fourth. How many times do I have to keep deleting your memories and start this conversation again so you'll just stay with me?"
The edges of your vision seemed to be drawing closer, and you were starting to feel a numb pain that still stung in every single muscle you had. You couldn't even focus as she walked over to you, looking down at your pathetic sitting figure before dropping the flower in her hand that seemed to disapear into a blue or purple flame from what you could make out by your limited darkening vision.
"But for you..." She smiled again, taking your cheek in her gloved hand.
...
Your vision went black, yet you could feel the cold of her touch.
"I'll gladly do it. <3"
Maybe she was right. Maybe you did know her.
You just weren't her partner.
Yet.
