Personal Sustainability: For an average weekend, I kept track of everything I threw away. That should’ve included what was for compost or recycling, but my university apartment does not have recycling systems and I could be fined for composting. I kept a list of each item, what it was made of, what it was used for, and where I think it may end up (everything went to the landfill.) Because of COVID 19, my waste was significantly lower than normal. Instead of take-out boxes and bags, I now cook at home which produces minimal waste in comparison. Many of the food items could have been composted like fruits and vegetables, but I know they will decompose. I have also switched to glass dishware and reuseable water bottles.
