Parenting is the most difficult job you will ever have, especially if you are still trying to raise a child within yourself. You will fail many times before getting this job right. Even though your child comes from you they still have their own individual identity. The best thing to do as a parent is knowing who you are and making sure you become healthy to raise another healthy human being. Tackle your own shortcomings before you tackle your childs shortcomings. No matter how good of a parent you may be your child will still have their own battles. I think a lot of parents feel guilty or ashamed when they want to deal with themselves first. But in actuality you shouldn’t. This is how to protect the child from any harm, abuse, neglect etc. I would rather work on myself and keep the child out of harms way rather than not work on me and in some form abuse the child with my own experiences if toxic or dangerous. Protect our children from trauma by working on yourself. Speak up Speak out. Do not be ashamed!
