ah,  yeah.  that's  exactly  what  every  man  wants  to  hear  from  the  woman  he's  been  falling  in  and  out  of  bed  with  for  the  last  .  .  .  fuck,  he's  lost  track.  wry  smile  tugs  at  robby's  lips,  because  he  knows  he  deserves  it.  he's  no  stranger  to  using  partners  as  tools  for  avoidance,  so  why  should  he  be  treated  any  different?  there's  nothing  godly  about  michael  robinavitch.

"really?  my  therapist  says  i  need  a  therapist."  remark  is  laced  with  dry  sarcasm.  it's  adorned  with  a  humorless  snort  of  laughter.  he  lounges  back  in  a  bed  that  isn't  his  own,  draped  in  soft  sheets  that  smell  like  her.  he  doesn't  want  to  leave,  which  says  a  lot  given  his  nasty  habit  of  humping  and  dumping.

tucking  an  arm  behind  his  head,  he  allows  his  gaze  to  wander  aimlessly  to  the  ceiling  overhead.  he  groans  when  he  shifts  and  is  reminded  of  his  age  via  a  perpetually  achy  back.  "what  else  does  your  therapist  say  about  me?  am  i  a  hot  topic  when  you're  on  the  couch?"  he  questions  curiously,  even  though  he  probably  doesn't  want  to  know.

it takes too much effort to move his eyes to look at the clock on the wall so he just shrugs at @traumalead. " the last time i checked it was over thirty-five hours but that could've been hours or days ago. " he should go home and he will soon but for some reason he can't get himself to leave the nurses station. he feels nauseous just at the thought. " chris has his first sleepover so i'll be home alone for the first time probably ever and i don't know if i'm ready for that yet. " he blinks his dry eyes and looks down at his feet, embarrassed for the sudden honesty. the sleep deprivation making him more vulnerable to his friend. " i'll be fine. i know that i'll be fine. i just don't know how to make myself leave. "

mel often walked into her shift empty - handed. the day's snacks were tucked into her backpack, her phone tucked into her pocket, her airpods nestled into her ears. in fact, it felt kind of odd not to have her hands free when she reached her locker. you see, today she'd stopped for tea. ( boba, to be specific. a treat, if you will. ) she wasn't really one for coffee, and she honestly found it a bit inconvenient to be tied to a drink that would just lose quality with time as her shift began, but ── well, it felt nice to have something. the problem? her drink had been made wrong, and she was now carrying both her properly made drink & the reject. she'd already rehearsed exactly what to say when she offered the extra plastic cup to anyone willing to listen ── which is exactly what she did upon approaching the board at the heart of the ED. " hey, they gave me an extra drink this morning. i didn't want it to go to waste, so ── do you want it? o - or do you know who might? "
