“Gem..?” Travis’ voice quivered as Gem came into sight. She had smears of blood on her face, her once white converse was now reddish, and her jacket had blood stains.
“Um…hi?” Gem waved her hand awkwardly.
“First off, I'm sorry. But I think I can get the stains off the jacket. It is my favorite birthday present after all.”
“You really think that's what-ugh never mind.” Travis paused, looking nervously at the blood again. “What happened?
“Oh, right. I forgot you didn't know!” Gem pursed her lips tightly. “First, this isn't my blood. Mostly.”
Travis breathed a sigh of relief, then Gem continued “It's from a ghost!”
Travis’ eyes shot wide open. “You've been messing with ghosts? Please don't tell me you've been messing with ghosts.” He groaned.
“I can't do that.” Gem turned her head down. “You know I don't lie.”
“Gem, who have you been spending time with?”
“This is gonna sound really funny, I swear.”
