Hello!! :D Can I get Max Goof + "Trying", Jim Hawkins + "Protective" and Male!Violet (from the Incredibles) + "Fight"
I kind of don’t like the first one but ehhhh. Thanks for the request anon!
“You’re trying to get us together.”
Fingers drummed quietly on the steering wheel, your eyes focused on the multitude of cars that only seemed to move an inch every hour, all too aware that at the rate you were going that you weren’t going to make it to the reservation on time.
Debating on whether or not to tell him, you figured that at this point it’d only be worse not to say anything; the heavy traffic wouldn’t go away for at least a few miles, and eventually he was going to find out even if you’d both made it on time…he’d already been suspicious before, and your hesitance to address it only confirmed it.
“I am,” you confessed reluctantly, turning beside you to see that Max was just staring at you, not at all angry or betrayed like you thought he’d be…instead he just blankly stared, processing the situation as he sunk into his seat, not saying a word. Biting the inside of your cheek, you remarked lowly, “You need to see him, Max. He needs to know that he’s going to be a…”
There was a long stretch of silence after that, and even if the male beside you didn’t say a word, it was clear that he knew what you were implying; it still didn’t make it an easy pill to swallow, but as the ride went on and he saw how determined you were to bring the two Goofs together after so long, he thought maybe he could bare through this if only for you and his, slowly growing, family.
Jim Hawkins + “Protective”
It was so fast that you hadn’t had time to process it.
All you could see was a blur of dark colors, and in an instant the cadet was on the floor, scrapes littering from his elbows up and his entire white attire stained with dirt, ruining it entirely.
Your eyes widened upon realizing that it was that same creepy cadet that you’d always felt staring at you whenever you came on campus to visit, his innocent face know marred with the angry lines of a furious stalker who’d just been exposed, revealing himself under the false façade he’d shown everyone.
“I told you once and I’ll tell you again,” your head snapped up to see Jim standing in front of you, floating between the fallen cadet on his solar surfer, his clothes and hair a disheveled mess, giving you the impression that he’d immediately rushed over to put a stop to this.
Though you couldn’t see the look on his face, you knew from the way his body was tense, fists already at his sides and the sudden pressure releasing from below his surfer, heat blazing on the ground below in a startling screech that he was not happy.
Male!Violet Parr + “Fight”
“I’m sorry our dinner was ruined.” Came his quiet reply, and you stopped dabbing on the cuts on his knuckles to see his eyes shining with guilt, turning away after a moment as he admitted, sighing in frustration, “I know I shouldn’t have fought them, and it was risky of me to do it when Supers have barely been legalized, but…”
“You felt the need to help?” You supplied softly when he didn’t continue, inspecting his hand one more time before proceeding to grab at the gauze beside you, wrapping it carefully around him as the sudden waft of leftovers engulfed the living room from the oven across in the kitchen.
“Yeah.” His eyes shifted back to you before slowly trailing down to your stomach, eyeing it in all it’s rounded glory…the thought of his unborn child being anywhere near the danger he’d faced on a daily basis made him sick to even his stomach. Swallowing, he spoke with a hint of conviction, “I wasn’t about to let them go near the restaurant. I should’ve left it at that when I called the police, but I just thought since I have powers and could help right then and there, why wait?”
“And you did the right thing.” He was rewarded by a proud smile, love shining in his wife’s eyes and suddenly he felt like the shy, awkward teenager that he was all those years ago, heat flooding in his cheeks and all guilt subsiding for the moment as the oven beeped loudly, signaling that their dinner was ready.
