Floyd Valley Foundation’s Annual Fundraiser Brings in over $55,000
With around 300 guests in attendance, Floyd Valley Foundation’s annual craft beer and wine tasting fundraiser is one of the most successful each year. Thank you to all our sponsors, staff and friends whose support of the event raised over $55,000 for the hospital.
Guest arrived for the pirate-themed party and enjoyed freshly made gourmet appetizers, including corn fritters, plantain fritters and coconut shrimp with a delicious selection of sauces. The Caribbean theme carried through dinner. A choice of jerk chicken, jerk pork or beef curry meatballs was served over red bean and coconut rice. A wide selection of craft beers and wines were tasted with desserts from Habitue and Cakes to Remember.
Two additions were made to the event this year. The Foundation hosted a live auction on KLEM where the high bidder won use of a special VIP lounge, that included personal service and luxury seating (pictured above). The Foundation also debuted an inspiring video tribute to two local breast cancer survivors, Tami Schoeder and Wanda Delperdang.
The night’s big winners, after an exciting live auction, left with the Healdsburg Wine Retreat in Windsor California, bidding $4500. Cash donations for Fund the Cause raised nearly $15,000 and the silent auction raised $3300, however the best moment of the evening was when Tami, Wanda and other survivors stood in support of each other.
A wonderful night of fun and dancing followed.
The Foundation has a special thanks for Total Motors, which pledged $100 for each car sold in October totaling $4000, $2000 of which is allocated for the 3D mammography system and the remainder for patients who need assistance with screening costs.
