Could you tell us a bit about how Treb and Vrinda met?
Wow, this is a nice random ask to get!
So, funny thing about these two is that they both have a massive backstory that I I’ve alluded to, especially in the au where Rage and Dings end up as murder brothers. I was always going to kind of leave it as a mystery, but since I don’t plan to ever write it out...
Their story is like a fairytale romance. Trebuchet belonged to a caravan of bandits. He didn’t exactly choose to be a part of it, but was rather born into it. Despite both of his parents loving and being perfect for the lifestyle of living on the road and taking everything they wanted and needed, Treb never really fit in. He was quiet, he couldn’t use magic like a lot of the others, he wasn’t very forceful and he didn’t like hurting people.
Unfortunately during one of their raids they stumbled onto a group that they posed no match to; Vrinda’s family.
Vrinda’s family were essentially hitmen. Medieval, cultish, high-society hitmen. Robes, blood oaths, rigorous and intense training from day one, the whole nine. Unfortunately for Treb he was seen as easy pickings to be used for more training and is taken back to one of their locations.
Treb isn’t the hardened criminal he looks to be. He cries, he pleads, he doesn’t even lash out. Vrinda sees all this and is both completely confused and intensely curious at the same time.
Somehow they get to talking.
She starts slipping him food.
He’s so sweet to her despite her family putting him through hell and she doesn’t understand why.
So she makes her choice and busts him out.
What would Goop's parents think of him now? (As a fully grown goop)
“We’re proud of him,” Vrinda says, looking to Treb for agreement as he nods along. “I don’t think he believes it, but he’s a great father. We couldn’t ask for better grandchildren, and I know that’s in large part of the effort he put in raising them... even if being a dad wasn’t something I think he ever wanted to be.”
‘I’m sad that he had to go through what he went through to be where he is now.’ Treb signs after a moment. ‘I know there’s no undoing the past, and looking back doesn’t fix things, but I still wish we could have been there to help somehow, or things had turned out differently.’
‘But he’s still our son, no matter what. We’ll always love him.’
Treb, head of staff in the video game Solid Snail
