I can now answer the question...if a tree falls in the forest...a lot of people hear.
TREE DOWN
The neighbor's tree fell over suddenly during some wind and rain this past week. I was actually home when this happened and didn't hear a thing. I pinched some of the broken trunk wood after taking the pic of where the trunk snapped off, and that shit was totally soft.
Ok so, the Storms™ are on their way but it’s pushing a High Front ahead of it.
It’s currently a beautiful sunny 73º here with wind gusts up to 75 M/hr which have caused a very old, very tall ponderosa pine to fall over, right across the driveway.
Thankfully we are able to drive around what’s left of it so we can still come and go but it’s going to be there a few days while we find someone to come cut it up and haul it away.
I’m a little sad that it came down but it wasn’t entirely unexpected.
It’s been a dubious beginning to the new year. Here’s hoping for more auspicious days to come.
