Tree sit action - 15/09/13
Last Sunday night a group of 16 activists, including ourselves, came together to protect Victoria’s native forests. We set up a tree sit in one of the active coupes in Toolangi State Forest.

4am - After 5 hours of setting up, Possum begins the climb up to the sit.
6am - View from the tent. Loggers have arrived and are calling the DEPI (Department of Environment and Primary Industries) to come and arrest us.

The DEPI then called the police to try and talk Possum down from the tree sit. Possum stayed up. The police called search and rescue.
1:30pm- Search & rescue getting ready to climb up and take the sit down. Possum climbed away and avoided an arrest.
4pm- Possum came down after police had left. 6 people were arrested, however, we stopped work for the day and multiplied our support group.
