As you can see, I have a new weird, probably unoriginal AU idea for Camp Camp
I’m betting Tree!vid is already a thing. I just know it. But I desperately want eldritch tree creature David who is amused and confused by human life and customs (but mostly snickering and laughing at literally everything) being kept Max, Nikki, and Neil’s secret pet a la E.T. until some threat rises up from the forest that they need to combat together and Tree!vid is revealed as both a friendly neighborhood abomination (to Gwen and campers) and also a crouching moron hidden badass (to the troublesome trio).
Just... Max flipping off Tree!vid and Tree!vid gasping incredulously, “Rude! So rude!” and laughing breathlessly because wow humans are weird and also the best. That scene is stuck in my head lol
Probably a brotherly relationship would be best for Tree!vid and the campers, since Tree!vid knows jack all about humanity, but you could pull off a Tree!Dad!vid for bonus points with the whole protector angle.
I’m just spiraling away into Tree!vid appreciating Max for his novelty and his intelligence and Max never having had someone just like him for himself (that he recognized, anyway). *cries*
Of course, looking at my own drawing, I could see a Scarecrow - David, Dorothy - Nikki (who else is going to accidentally murder a whole family of witches?), Lion - Neil, and Tin Man - Max for a whole Wizard of Oz reenactment but nope.
Nope.
Let someone else take that yellow brick road.
