TremonTEAM Challenge Three
School’s out! Let’s help Rafe plan! Share your ideas for the best Rafe school ever!
You were walking in the streets of the Middle City when someone handed you this piece of parchment. A new school... for everyone, even those who couldn’t afford tutors? Funded by Duchess Tremontaine? Interesting...
You can check out Tremontaine here!
.
I really wanted to make a poster/flyer like this but I was having trouble coming up with content and putting my ideas into words, but the wonderful @bedannibal-lectaurier and @bedeliainwonderland had the perfect concepts for me to play around with! Thank you guys for letting me use your entries! I tweaked around a bit, I hope you don’t mind.
School crest: Concept credit goes to @bedannibal-lectaurier with her post here I only added some stuff in the crest, like the book which represents knowledge and learning, and swords which are used to symbolize honor in the Tremontaine universe. The swan has its wings spread now, because our Duchess is about to bring Tremontaine house into new heights...
Courses: Credit to @bedeliainwonderland here! I only expanded Kinwiinik Studies into Foreign Cultures to cover more interesting foreign lands out there.
Diane Duchess Tremontaine signs this off for approval of course, and she has to admit that yes, it’s not so bad... Rafe Fenton knows useful people after all and- What are those in the borders?
“They’re turnips.” Micah tells her.
“Ah.” Diane only nods. “Of course they are.”
It’s amazing how we’re all in agreement, really. The school mascot is a turnip, duh. Turnips make everything better. #TeamTurnip
Tremonteam Challenge #7
Duchess Vacation. Make it a splendid affair.
We already gave Diane a fun Disneyland trip and a romantic getaway, so now it’s time for a little City break (literally haha). The Duchess is going to Venezia, I mean, Serenissima. And who is she taking? No one. The affairs have been rather hectic recently and the Duchess needs a place and some time to clear her mind, sort her feelings and decide the best course of action against her enemies. Her own sanctuary at the Hill had been violated and, although, she is certain her home is secure now, she finds it difficult to relax as she once did. She had considered having Micah accompany her, but knows the new place and crowd would make the girl anxious. She discussed her plans with her and Micah concluded that she would rather stay here as she was in a middle of an important calculations. The guards had been doubled for the time of Diane’s absence, ensuring Micah’s safety and fresh tomato pies were to be baked daily.
Before her departure, she spoke to Esha; it was not like Diane to look to other people for opinion or approval, but there she was, making sure Esha wasn’t hurt by her leaving, even if it was for a short while. She wasn’t, of course, understanding better than anyone the need to find inner peace. With a heartful kiss, she wished her a good journey and said she would be waiting for her. The comment made Diane’s heart skip a beat like it hadn’t ever before.
Diane had her doubts about leaving the City, but once she wakes up to a stunning view of the Grand Canal and a waiter, ready for her every wish, serving her fresh fruits and pastries, she knows she made a right decision. Amongst the stunning palazzos, she flourishes, nourished by the beauty and splendour. She even allows herself to sample gelato; a bit too cold for her taste, but she thinks Micah would enjoy it. She takes a mental note to obtain the recipe.
Plans slowly fall into place in her mind and, by the end of her trip, she is ready to face her opponents with an unclouded mind and fresh energy. And at her next summer soirees she will be serving Spritz. But, first, she needs to visit Esha.
Who else is 100% here for Diane, Esha, and Isabella Davenant teaming up to take down that asshole Dragon Greg and quietly ruling the Hill while all being wildly in love with each other?
I wanted to do so much more with this beautiful assignment than I had time for, but here we go. First I am going to copy/paste my entry of season 2 when we had to write a blog post about who you would be in Tremontaine. This is my chance! To be a cat. I’d call myself Murky, that fits well with this world. A True Riverside cat would be Puss in Boots. :p I can imagine my friends there, just me is more difficult to place. I would want to take my best friends with me. We would be an eclectic band of artists. Storytellers, painters, singers, dancers, actors, literature scholars.
Next up, I made a silly sticky figurey sketch of Murky-me in her City and look, drunken swordsmen. Special thanks to my cat for posing. I was going to make one of Murks hanging out with my friends at the theatre too but didn’t get round to that.
The other picture is one of me in Tremontaine world. Granted, I look no different from regular me. Because we know that is what I would do in Tremontaine world, find lovely books and wear my fancy dresses (I am wearing layers of black lacy here because that is what I love. You can’t see the outfit all that well because of crappy camera). No university ‘only men’ rule would stop me. Perhaps I am a young lady who wants a decent education? Special thanks to my grandparents. :) As for the Duchess, I remain convinced it may not be in my best interest to actually meet her, except in cat form.
#tremonTEAM Challenge: Season 3, Episode 1
Duchess Diane de Tremontaine is now a Duchess by right and a dinner is served in her honor at the beginning of the episode. What menu would you plan to honor the Duchess?
‘Dragon Rampant’ Episode 11 of Tremontaine Season 3, by Karen Lord. Available now!
How does a country-born commoner transform herself into the ruler of a duchy? Why would an unambitious man set out to remove one of the most powerful figures of the establishment? Diane de Tremontaine and Basil Halliday are examples of those who were not born great but who worked to achieve greatness—not because they are …
And, for my last essay of Season 3, a little musing on what makes a legend.
