Chancellor Hux
Inspired by Trevorrow’s script for Episode IX. Bow to your Chancellor. Bow to the First Order!

Duel of the Fates script: *leaks*
Me: wow, I can't believe this is canon.
I'm not going to defend JJ, because he made some questionable decisions in TROS, but I don't necessarily blame him for the mess that became of Episode IX. After reading Trevorrow's script and seeing how he didn't want to redeem Kylo Ren, it's obvious someone at Disney and/or Lucasfilm didn't want to see Kylo become the main villian and instead wanted to focus on the romance between Rey and Kylo. There's many sources suggesting Disney interfered way too much near the end of the film's release.
Look Disney is at fault for tossing out Trevorrow’s script, but Abrams is the one to write The Rise is Skywalker. He made those descions in the script that Disney agreeded to. It’s both Abrams and Disney’s fault for the mess that is The Rise of Skywalker.
J.J. Abrams has never been good at ending stories. He’s too obsessed with his mystery box to actually give the story a satisfactory conclusion. There is plenty of blame to go around, but putting it all on Kathleen Kennedy and the studio is just plain wrong.
I know it’s easy to put all the blame of a big studio interfering with an “artists vision”, but sometimes that vision isn’t that good to begin with.
Please watch this video breaking down Abram’s mystery box.
And this video breaking down this trend of studios “leaking” the idea of alternative cuts of films to the public. It’s specifically about The Snyder Cut, but I think it applies here.
Trevorrow’s Damerey is boring and retrograde and male-insert and I hate it
I don’t even know if this Colin Trevorrow script is real, but I can’t see why people think its automatically better.
I mean, he ships Damerey and he has a 70s and 80s sexist view of women in media with male heroes.
I was not even REMOTELY surprised, not even the slightest when he insisted RJ put in that Poe introducing himself to Rey with the “I know” comment [ugh].
Why? Because its such a male gaze fantasy relationship. Poe Dameron was always a 1 dimensional male insert hero straight outta the 80s in TFA. His character was intended to be killed off, as he was more of a trope than a character.
In TLJ, Rian Johnson gave him a character arc, and a good one. The the trope of the hero rebel that knows better than the authority was subverted [also a VERY 80s trope], thank god.
In TROS, he mostly is obnoxious, and given an unnecessary background with Zorii, but JJ avoided giving him the girl. JJ, is at least, more self-aware of old sexist tropes, though it feels very much like Disney wants us to know that Poe is straight, which was unnecessary. Hell, let people fancanon their Finnpoe, Disney. Oh well, shippers will fancanon him as bi which is all good.
Trevorrow has never, ever held such self-awareness, and his sexism has come through in his films time and time again.
The only thing good about this supposed script, if he wrote it, is Finn and Rose get better roles. The Force and balance are explored more.
However, Kylo Ren is 100% out of character in the film. He is a flat villain for most of the film, his character trait throughout TFA and TLJ of never wanting to hurt Rey, is scrapped. Kylo and Rey were always the heart of this trilogy, and turning Kylo into uber-bad villain, kill them all!, and even forgetting that Kylo killed Snoke in TLJ to stand on his own two feet and be his own leader, is scrapped as Kylo literally gets himself trained by some other, more powerful Sith user. At least TROS Kylo wants to kill Palpatine from the start--no more following old men for him.
And Damerey. Ugh. I have nothing against people that ship them. But I’m sure most women on this site could make a much better ship for them than what I know Trevorrow would dish out, and really, seeing Rey as the love-interest for 80s male self-insert Poe makes me gag. It is the most boring-ass ship in his hands and the most retrograde. I saw tons of these relationships in the 80s and early 90s and the women end up just being male fantasy.
Reylo is fascinating because enemies to lovers is fascinating, and most of all their relationship is a Force creation, supernatural, and a part of the Force itself. Boring-ass Poe and Rey offers absolutely fucking zero value to Star Wars and fiction itself.
Oh, and Rey Solanna? Really? Sol-anna? Sun? Rey of Sun? If there is one thing that makes me want to dismiss this script all together as being real is that I’ve been certain since 2015 that Lucasfilm would have Rey take the name Skywalker without being related to them. I don’t think she would get some new last name. But I don’t doubt for one second that Trevorrow wanted Poe and Rey together, ever since I’ve seen his other movies and learned he wanted that introduction with “I know” in TLJ.
Since the chancellor Hux script takes place 10 years after tlj, I can only assume Kylo and Hux would be in the midst of enjoying their long, happy years of marriage together. They probably go out on dates in secret and spend quiet days with no senate meetings cozying up in Hux's room with a grand view of the city. They could have never imagined how well things worked out and how much they love each other. They might also be really thinking about kids.
Totally! So Kylo and Hux met 5 years before TFA and then there’s 10 years between TFA/TLJ and Duel Of The Fates (DOTF) so let’s imagine that they’ve been married for 10 years! They’re still so in love with each other and each is the other’s best friend so they sometimes dress in casual clothing and go on secret dates & days out with each other to be a ‘normal’ couple where their lives aren’t surrounded by politicans. They want to be Armitage & Kylo sometimes, not Chancellor Hux & Supreme Leader Ren. They need space to be a married couple!
And maybe they’d already have a child? A little 5 year old who looks so much like Kylo but with Hux’s shining green eyes. He’s often seen in Chancellor Hux’s political meetings!
hello lottie! apparently the entire script for Duel Of Fates was leaked, what you think of it?
Hi! 💕 It’s easy to say that I liked the DOTF script because it’s all just on paper and not real but as it is, I feel like there’s more that I like about that movie than what I liked about TROS. I was massively disappointed with TROS so maybe anything would have been better than that, but Rey Nobody & Dark Side Kylo & Chancellor Hux & No Palpatine & More Luke sounds goood to me.
Can't stop thinking abt the Chancellor Hux concept art where he commits seppuku. :'((( what if he does that because not only did he fail the First Order but he lost Ren too... (and before that he experienced a miscarriage) so like really he doesn't have anything left to live for. :c sorry for the emo ask. If only we got chancellor hux on screen :(((
Honestly. I would have much preferred that ending for him instead of becoming a spy and being shot by Pryde. At least he would have ascended to a position of high power before the FO is inevitably taken down by the rebels.
Oh, nooo! He truly believes that this is an honourable death because he’s failed his family, his beloved and his organisation. He won’t let the Resistance take him alive. At least, this way, he believes he’ll be honoured and reunited with Ren & his child.
