"KC, you still don’t know what you’re doing for your birthday tomorrow?" I quizzed, looking over at Kyle and lifting my legs onto the couch, tucking them underneath me.
"No ma’am." She replied as I reached behind me to grab the crème-colored throw blanket off the back of the couch before snuggling up with it. "I haven’t been thinking about it in all honesty."
"It’s your twenty first though…."
"I know but, eh…" She shrugged and slithered closer to me before grabbing the end of the blanket that I was under and covering herself up with it as well.
"So you’re telling me….that you haven’t thought about turning up for your twenty first birthday?" Avery inquired, peeling her eyes off of the television and jumping into our conversation.
"Not really. Besides, don’t you guys already have plans for tomorrow anyway? I mean…it is Valentine’s Day." All I could do was stare at her. Not because I didn’t have anything to say, but because she knew the situation that I was in.
"KC…." I started, breaking the curt silence that fell upon us.
"What plans do I have tomorrow and with whom? Please fill me in."
"Droppin’ that thun thun thun on Trey." Drew voiced in the kitchen as I peeked my head over the couch, watching as she removed a can of ginger ale out of the fridge.
"No one is dropping any thuns on Trey. You tried it."
"I was just kidding, babe. We all know you’re about to be boo-loving with Mr. Long." She smirked while walking back into the living room and sitting on the couch next to Blair with the ginger ale in her right hand. "B….open this for me."
Never taking her eyes off of her favorite movie “Poetic Justice" playing on the sixty-inch flat screen mounted on the wall, Blair reached over to grab the can from Drew to open it for her.
"That’d be wishful thinking. I still haven’t heard from him yet so if I do tomorrow of all days, it’d be a miracle."
I really didn’t know what was driving me more insane — the fact that today marks exactly three months since Ezra has been gone, the fact that Trey lives out here now or the fact that my girls all know about his relocation and barely sees anything wrong with it.
All of them except Avery at least.
Avery has been team Ezra since I first told her about him and she understood my reasoning in going forward with him as well. She felt that Ezra entering my life was for a specific reason and that the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Granted, she didn’t have a real life problem with Trey, she’s just always favored Ezra.
Same with Blair but Trey has always been her favorite. She was just fond of the fact that Ezra came into my life and made me happy and helped build me back up from everything that happened; but truth be told, when it comes to Trey, he will always be a favorite of hers.
"But wait…Your birthday was last month. You didn’t hear from him then either?" KC questioned as I shook my head no, glancing back up at the television. "Damn, Tris. That’s four events that he’s missed." She finished, specifically referring to Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and my birthday.
"I know that. Which is why I said it’d be a miracle if I hear from him tomorrow."
"And you can’t call him or anything right?"
"No, he can only call out."
"I don’t know how you do it girl." She looked over at me with slight pout in her lips. "You sure you don’t wanna drop any thuns on Trey?" I sucked my teeth and snatched the blanket off of Kyle, holding on to it tight just incase she tried snatching it back.
"Tristannnnn…." She reached over, trying to do exactly what I thought she would which was snatching the blanket back. "It’s too cold in your house for you to be playing these games."
"You’re the one playing them, not me. You know I don’t want to do anything like that with that man."
"Yea okay, whatever you say. Just give me some of the blanket back."
"Nah.." I retorted. "Go turn the heat on if you’re that cold."
"….I swear I have some childish ass friends." Drew mumbled, leaning over to sit her can of ginger ale down on the coffee table. "Here, Kyle." She reached behind Blair, grabbing another blanket that I had lying on the back of the couch and tossed it over to KC.
"Thank you sugar tits." KC smiled at Drew then looked over at me before sticking her tongue out. I veered over and mushed her in her head before she slapped my hand away. "Stop playing Tris and let me love on you."
"Love my ass. You’re just trying to get some of my body heat. You are not slick." I stated, causing us to burst out into a series of giggles.
"Well yea…" She still managed to snuggle up to me anyway, making herself comfortable at that. "I told you it was cold in here."
Shaking my head at her and glancing back up at the television, I watched as Justice shared a few childhood memories with Lucky by the beach shore while she filed his nails down.
When Lucky leaned in and placed a subtle kiss on Justice’s lips, I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t feel some type of way about it.
I’ve never felt any type of way about this part of the movie until now though. I figured it was because Trey popped up again and my first time ever watching this movie was with him.
We watched this movie so many times together back then and this was actually one of his favorite parts. He told me that the way Justice randomly opened up to Lucky about her childhood reminded him of the way I finally opened up to him about mine.
Hastily shrugging off my thoughts, I leaned my head back on the couch and dropped it to the side, looking over at Drew.
"Okay so we already know I’m not doing shit tomorrow. Rew, what do you have planned?" I questioned before KC stretched her arm out and down towards the ground, reaching for her Samsung Galaxy S5.
"Not a damn thing." She replied dryly. "We go through this every year and before one of you asks…no, I’m not still bitter about my ex coming out of the closet on Valentine’s Day."
"You sure?" Drew sucked her teeth and side-eyed me. "Hey, I have to ask these things."
"Yes, Tristan. I’m sure. I just had to let it be known before one of yall asked me about it again."
"I wasn’t about to ask you about that but since we’re on the topic of it now…. I still can’t believe the shit. Like, he played it off so well." I brought my head back up and looked in Drew’s direction.
Drew’s dad and Avery’s mom just recently got married, so she’s pretty fresh to our circle. However, even though that’s the case, she informed us all about her relationship with her ex.
They were only together for a year and a half but she gave him the Universe. She was always purchasing something new for him, cooking for him, cleaning and doing his laundry — everything that you can think of, she was doing it.
All except having relations with him and that was because she just wasn’t ready to take that step with him just yet. Drew put all of her trust into him and loved him more than words could explain — only for him make her wish that she hadn’t.
"Yea, he played off using me as a cover up real well. Then chose Valentine’s Day out of all days to let me know that he was in love with someone named Harper. I’m thinking, okay — he’s in love with another bitch because you know…unisex names are obviously existent and everything. Turns out, Harper was a dude." She scoffed "A fuckin’ dude." She reiterated before shaking her head. "Valentines’ Day was the day I was going to let him get some too but I’m glad that didn’t happen."
"At least you didn’t walk in on your boyfriend of four years, having a threesome on Valentine’s Day in your bed and asked if you wanted to join." Blair stated nonchalantly, finally breaking the trance that Poetic Justice had on her entire life. "I’m not bitter either though."
"Fuckin’ Nasir. He had something good with you, B; and Drew, Amir had something good with you as well.”
"Obviously not." B spat before directing her attention back to the television.
"And you mean Amirah?" Drew corrected me.
"Yes, bitch. Got some cheap ass yaki weave put in and found his way to the nearest M.A.C counter too."
"Yaki?" I inquired. "I mean, if you’re going to play the part, at least get some nice shit put in."
"Guess we know who wears the vickies in that relationship though." KC mumbled, causing me to giggle a bit.
"Shut the fuck up." Drew stated through a laugh before throwing a pillow at KC. "But yea. I don’t have anything planned as of right now."
"Make some plans with Chris." I replied as a smirk slowly crept upon my face.
"Who’s the one with the jokes now?" Drew questioned.
"Not I. Just know I felt the power of that curve though." She shrugged and started to roll the sleeves of her shirt up. "He couldn’t stop talking about you once you left." She looked at me for a minute before glancing down and slightly shaking her head.
"Chris who? You met someone and didn’t spill the tea?" Avery interrogated while pulling her hair up and putting it in a messy bun.
"Uh, no." Drew looked back up at her sister before continuing." His alter-ego is probably Christina anyway so it’s not even worth spilling my good ass tea over."
"Rew, you can’t go around thinking everyone is in the closet."
"Look Avery, I blame my ex and R.Kelly for these appalling thoughts of mine." She replied, referring to R.Kelly’s "Trapped in the Closet" series.
"Trapped in the closet is my shit though." KC randomly butted in before she cleared her throat. "Seven o’clock in the morning and the rays from the sun wakes me. I’m…stretching and yawning in a bed that don’t belong toooo me. And a voice yells good morning darlin’ from the —-." Her singing got cut off from me smacking the shit out of her with one of the onyx pillows from the couch.
"Ow! Tris. Yall need to stop hitting me with these damn pillows!" She laughed and tossed the pillow onto the floor as I joined her in laughing.
"Anyway…" I started after my laughing ceased. "What about you Avery?" I shifted a bit to look behind me and at Avery. "What do you have planned for tomorrow?"
"Wellllll…"She drawled out.
"Let me guess. Zane is taking you to the moon this year to have a candle-lit dinner…” Blair started, referring to Avery’s long-term boyfriend who just so happens to be the Chief Operating Officer of his family’s oil company. “And during this candle-lit dinner, y’all will look down on us not doing shit with our lives but sulking in self pity while we eat ice-cream directly out of the carton — all while watching reruns of ”Living Single.”
"You my dear, are not shit for that." I retorted, letting out a few snickers.
"Being shit isn’t sanitary." I watched as Blair rolled her eyes playfully before giggling. "And Tris you know Zane always goes above and beyond for our girl."
"I know Blair but the moon though? I can’t with you."
"Must you always be so extra?" Avery queried through a faint smile.
"….Duh. Extra is my middle name. Act like you know." Blair smacked her lips and snapped her fingers, imitating a ratchet girl to a tee.
"You’re so ugly for that." Avery laughed and lifted her legs onto the couch before wrapping her arms around them. "And for your information, I have no idea what Zane has planned for me. He just told me look nice and to be ready by eight-thirty tomorrow. I doubt we’re going to the moon."
"Won’t be surprised if that’s where you end up."
"I’m just playing, Avery….Kind of." Blair smiled and started playing with the rich curls that blessed the top of her head.
"And this is why I haven’t really thought about what I want to do for my birthday."
"Because I have plans?" Avery questioned.
"That and because I’m just not all that excited for it really."
"Well listen…" I patted KC, indicating that I wanted her to sit up before removing my feet from underneath me. "We’re going to figure out something to do to get that ass excited. It’s your twenty-first so we’re about to turn up. Just give me a minute to think of something."
"Alright ma’am. If you say so."
"Tris…" Blair called out before I looked in her direction. "I have a question."
"Alright, so listen…" She commenced, grabbing the remote and turning the television down a bit. "Why is it that we had no idea Terrence was Trey’s brother?"
"…And where did that question come from?"
"Well I’ve been meaning to ask you since that night at the bar but that bullshit that happened made me forget. Until now at least."
"Mm, I see. Well…I know he told me that he had a half brother back when him and I were in that situation-ship…"
"Situation-ship?" Drew mimicked, interrupting me with a cocked eyebrow.
"Yea. Like, we weren’t in a relationship. We had a situation so the shit was a situation-ship."
"Your forever making up words ass." Drew stated matter-of-factly. "Was it still a situation when he was balls deep inside of you too?"
"Oh shit!" Blair blurted out before they all started cackling. I on the other hand, just allowed my jaw to drop.
"Ruthless Rew strikes again!" Avery exclaimed over KC and Blair’s boisterous laughter.
"Are those tears?" Blair questioned, still laughing.
"Yea, man…" KC brought her hand up to her face, wiping the tears that were making their way down her cheeks away. "Y’all making my stomach hurt from laughing so damn much. Stop it."
"I don’t even….Like why would you…" A rooted sigh found it’s way out of my mouth and into the atmosphere as I covered my face with my hands.
"I was just asking but carry on." I peeked through my fingers to look at a now smiling Drew then dropped my hands into my lap.
"As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted.." I started, looking over at Drew and clearing my throat. "I didn’t get the chance to meet him and Trey only showed me one picture of them together but it was a childhood photo."
It never really dawned on me how I didn’t know anything about Terrence before all of this other than the fact that he was a few years younger than Trey and that Sevyn was his daughter.
I was aware that Trey had a brother and I knew his name but there are several Terrence’s in the World. I didn’t think anything of it when I met him once his daughter got placed in my class. Not to mention, they have different last names as well.
"Have you ever wondered why you didn’t get to meet him?" Blair inquired as KC and Drew both delve into their phones at the same time, one getting on twitter and the other getting on snapchat.
"I’ve wondered about that quite a few times in the past actually."
"Are you wondering that right now?" Avery quizzed, swinging her legs up and resting them on top of Drew’s as I lightly shrugged.
"Not really. I mean, Terrence said that he was overseas back when Trey and I were doing our thing. So I guess that’s the reason why."
"Overseas doing what though? He’s in the Military too or something?"
"I didn’t ask him all of that, B. He was talking to Trey when he mentioned that overseas stuff anyway. Not me."
"Aren’t you babysitting Sevyn on Sunday?" KC chimed in, with her eyes still glued to her twitter timeline.
"Then that’ll be your time to ask him all of that."
"I second that motion. I mean come on. You have to be at least a bit curious about why you barely know a thing about your first love’s brother." KC pushed the lock button on her phone and tossed it on the couch, looking in my direction as she did so.
"It seems to me like you all care more about that than I do so I tell you what…" I started as the sound of my doorbell echoed throughout the house. "Yall can talk to him about that yourselves." I finished, removing the blanket off of me and getting up to head towards the front door.
The doorbell rang again as stood on my tip-toes, attempting to look through the peephole. Smiling at the sight of who was on the other side of the door, I quickly unlocked it and swung the door open.
"Hey chocolate drop. What are you doing here?" I quizzed, looking up at Omarion as he chuckled.
"How you just gone take my nickname for you though?" He inquired, leaning against the doorframe.
"Because I can do shit like that, O." Chuckling lightly, I leaned forward to give him a quick one-armed hug before stepping back and looking at him. "Still didn’t answer my question though. What are you doing here?"
"I just took a chance at stopping by, hoping all of y’all were here because I brought something for y’all…" He started, standing up straight. "Mind if I come in?"
"Your polite ass. As many times as you’ve been here to visit B, now you want to ask?" I giggled, moving to the side to let him in. "What are you dropping off?" Closing the door behind us as he made his way in, he looked over and down at me and shrugged.
"I’ll tell you after I surprise Blair. Where is she?"
He always wanted to surprise Blair with his presence and I swear she was surprised every time. Call me crazy but I would be here for the ship of B and O. I honestly don’t know whom Blair was trying to fool but their chemistry was evident. I understand they’ve been best friends for a long time but just like Trey was Blair’s favorite, Omarion was mine.
"She’s in the living room watching her favorite movie."
"Poetic Justice?" He inquired before smiling a bit.
"You know it. But come on, we’ll walk through the kitchen so you can surprise her." I headed towards the kitchen with O in tow, watching as he snuck up behind her once we made it into the living room. He took his hands and covered her eyes with them, causing her to flinch.
"Who the fuck? Tristan, is this you?" I didn’t know whether to be offended or not by her assumptions because Omarion’s hands are big as fuck — mine aren’t.
"Nah, I’m in the kitchen."
"Then who the hell…." She brought her hands up to his, feeling on them before trailing hers up his arm. She then brought her hands up to his face, feeling around on the features on it.
"O!" She bellowed through a hefty smile. He removed his hands from her eyes and started laughing as she pounced up and over the couch, landing directly in his arms.
"Why do you keep doing this to me?" I squealed, still in his arms as he walked us over to the kitchen and sat me on the counter by the stove.
"Popping up out of nowhere." I looked at O and brought my hand up to his face, attempting to remove a piece of lint that was stuck to his eyelash. "Stop blinking, Omar." I giggled at his obvious struggle to stop blinking but I still managed to get the shit that was stuck to his eyelash off.
”You acting like you don’t love when I do this shit.”
"I don’t though." I tried playing it cool and keeping a straight face but that didn’t work. I ended up laughing and covering my mouth as I did so.
"Mm. That’s what I thought." He retorted, moving my hands from my mouth. "And what I tell you about hiding your smile, B?"
"I don’t remember. Go ahead and remind me." I smirked at my smart-ass remark. He stared at me for a moment, causing me to look off to the side and allowing a slight sigh to find its way out of my nostrils.
"I told you not to hide that shit." I smiled again, this time leaving my hands in my lap.
"Better?" He nodded and looked towards the living room. I followed suit and looked as well and that’s when all of my girls snapped their heads back towards the television. "Y’all get on my nerves! Nosey asses." I laughed and shook my head. "What are you doing here though, O?" I quizzed, looking back into his cocoa colored orbs.
"I’ll tell you after you give me some M&M’s." I jerked my head back and held my hand to my chest.
"Huh?" I quizzed as he chuckled deeply.
"You fat as fuck shorty." He poked at my stomach a couple of times before I slapped his hand away.
"Says the one asking me for some candy and stopppp, that tickles." He went to poke me again but I held onto his hand tight to refrain him from doing so. "How do you know I have some left anyway?"
"Because I know you do. Now let me borrow some."
"Nigga….borrow?” I mocked. “How the hell does one borrow some candy?”
"The way ima borrow some from you."
"Ima keep letting you think that." I let his hand go before he ended up letting that same hand rest on my thigh. I glanced down at his hand then started to bite on the inside of my cheek.
"Nah. That’s something you’re gonna keep letting me know." I glanced back up and was met with his stare. I don’t know why and I don’t know how, but I ended up jumping down off of the counter and walking into my room to retrieve a bag of M&M’s from my stash.
Walking back into the kitchen, I noticed O was leaning against the counter with a smirk on his face.
"You get on my nerves too." I spat in a playful manner once I made my way back over to him, handing him the bag of M&M’s.
"You lying to me now, B? That’s how we’re doing shit now?" He chuckled as I pushed him, watching as he fell back a bit before I giggled and made my way over to the fridge.
"No lies here. Only truths."
"Yea, ight." He retorted before I heard him open up the bag and popping a few M&M’s in his mouth. "Come here though…"
I looked back at him and furrowed my eyebrows a bit. “O, I’m hungry.”
"I ain’t ask you all of that. Come here, B." I sighed and closed the doors to the fridge. Turning on my heels, I walked back over to where he was standing and jumped up on the counter as he continued leaning against it.
"I’m here." He took an M&M out of the bag and held it up to my plump lips. I took the M&M into my mouth as he licked over his lips and went back to eating the M&M’s himself. "Now tell me why you’re here. I swear I thought you were going to be busy today.”
"I was. I’ve been busy all week — having back to back meetings with Ross."
"Annnnnd?" I maneuvered my hand in a circular motion, indicating that I wanted him to continue.
"He told me that he finally has all of the information that he needs from me and that there’s going to be one final meeting. The final meeting is supposed to be sometime soon and that’s when he’s going to let me know if I’m signed to Maybach or not."
"O, you know you got this in the bag right?"
"I hope I do shorty. I’ve been writing my ass off and getting these songs ready for an album. If he tells me I’m signed, I’ll be set to start recording — and since I already have songs written out, the album shouldn’t take that long to drop. He’s already heard most of my shit too."
"Yasss, Omar. I’m so excited for you! Like, your vocals are on point best friend. Anyone would be lucky as hell to have you be apart of their label so I’m not doubting you on this one at all." He stood up straight, closing the M&M bag and setting it off to the side.
"Thank you, B. I appreciate that, real talk. I don’t want anyone else knowing about this album shit until it’s final though. I know I told you it’s coming out but that’s only if I get signed."
I coughed at his statement, remembering that I already told Tristan that he has a new album coming out. I wasn’t aware that the shit wasn’t final yet.
"Uh…alright O. I won’t tell anyone but we both know you’re going to get signed."
"Love how you’re always staying positive for me, B." He reached up and pushed a few of my curls that were dangling in my face back and slowly outlined my jawline with his index finger.
"That’s what I’m here for, big head." I smiled, staring at him before I of course, turned away first. "Just uhm…" I started, before he placed his fingertips underneath my chin and turned my head softly towards him, so he could look me in my eyes. "Make sure you let me know how your meeting goes, alright?"
"Of course, Goldie. You’ll be the first person I let know." He retorted, as I lightly nodded my head.
"Are you going to let me know why you’re here now though?"
"Oh..yea." He dug into his pockets and pulled out what appeared to be tickets of some sort. "KC…" He called out as KC turned around and peeked over the couch, looking at O.
"Your birthday is tomorrow right?"
"Yes. Why what’s up?" She queried, sitting up on her knees and leaning over the couch.
"I don’t know if you had anything planned tonight but I got you some VIP passes to Tryst Nightclub in the Wynn tonight. I couldn’t get them for tomorrow night, my apologies but if y’all wanna go tonight…” He walked over to KC and handed her the passes. “Y’all got free entry.” She reached out, taking the passes from O but she didn’t seem too excited.
"I won’t be twenty-one until tomorrow though. They’re not going to let me in."
"Don’t worry about that, I handled that. Just show up and tell them y’all with us if you show up."
"Oh okay. Well do y’all wanna go turn up tonight?"
"Hell yea I wanna turn up!" Drew blurted out.
"You already know I want to boo." Tristan stated through a smile.
"Well alright. Looks like we’ll be getting lit tonight. Thank you, O." KC stood up on the couch to give O a hug.
"Uh-uhhh…That’s what you’re not going to do, Kyle." Tris leaned over and smacked the shit out of KC’s ass. "Stop standing on my couch!"
"Fuck, Tris." KC let go of Omarion and went to grab her ass before sitting back down on the couch. "That shit hurt." She pouted.
"Sounds like a personal problem to me…"
"Y’all a trip.." Omarion laughed and shook his head. "You’re welcome though, Kyle. Oh and I got you a VIP section with unlimited bottle service too. Don’t say I never gave you anything." He chuckled while sliding his hands into the pockets of his red Nike hoodie.
"Ahh shit. Turn up. Turn up. Turn up." I repeated while finessing on the counter as Omarion walked back over to me.
"So I guess you’re excited?" He inquired through a laugh, causing my dancing to cease.
"Hell yea. Tryst Thursdays are always live. But ohhhh wait a minute…" I started before glancing back over at Kyle. "KC." I called out.
"Mind if my cousins come with us?"
"You know I don’t mind. But uh…hang on." She turned around, grabbing the passes off of the table before starting to count them. "Just had to make sure we had enough passes and we do."
"Alright. Thanks boo." I replied, looking back at Omarion.
"Which cousins? You know you have a shit load of em, ma." He chuckled as I nodded my head in agreement.
"Haiden and Tyler. They flew out here to surprise me."
"Ah shit. Fatasses two and three." I sucked my teeth and mushed him in his head before he laughed. "Do me a favor though…."
"Depends on what it is." I retorted.
"Wear that lil outfit that I like seeing you in tonight."
The music automatically got me hype as soon as we stepped foot inside of Tryst. It was packed, as usual, but tonight seemed different — in a good way.
The DJ that they had tonight was DJ Chose from Houston and he was clearly doing his thing. Not only that but tonight brought all of the cuties out that’s been in hiding ever since I moved here to Las Vegas too.
Granted, I’m not looking for anything but a little eye candy never hurt anyone.
All eyes were on my girls and I as we made our way down the walkway and onto the dance floor. Well, at least I thought they were on my entire crew. Once I turned around, I noticed that the only ones that were with me still, were my cousins and Kyle.
Tristan, Avery and Drew must’ve wandered off to God knows where but that was okay — just as long as they were in Kyle’s VIP section later to start popping bottles.
We weaved in and out of people, accidently bumping into a few individuals as we made our way around the dance floor. I’m not too sure what Haiden, Tyler and Kyle were looking for but I was looking for a possible candidate to dance with.
I turned around and noticed they were actually breaking their necks, doing the same thing. If there was one thing that I was assure of, was that everyone in my circle could break a guy off on the dance floor. We stayed leaving niggas with a hard on and never felt bad about it either.
As soon as Chose dropped the next track, I instantly got excited and so did my cousins and Kyle. “This - is - my - jam.” I stated, mimicking New-New from “ATL.” Migos has the ability to bring out my inner ratchet and I think that was their goal with their song “Pop It.”
Every single time I hear this song, I start acting an ass.
I walked over to KC before turning around and dancing on her. “The way she shake that ass, she make me wanna make a million babies!” I rapped along, bending over to twerk on Kyle as she danced with me.
"Pop that, pop that, pop that, pop that booty. Pop it nasty!" Tyler and Haiden joined in, rapping along with the song with me as Kyle laughed, doing her thing behind me.
Glancing up after moments of breaking KC off, I spotted a random guy trying to pass by me but my head was in the way so he couldn’t get through. I leaned up and backed into Kyle, giving him room to pass but he walked forward and stopped right in front of me instead. My song was still on so I smirked and grabbed his hand, allowing him switch places with Kyle behind me.
He may have been random but his face was absolutely gorgeous; and let’s not even get me started on the curls atop of his head.
I positioned myself right in front of him before arching over and twerking it hard for him. I looked to my left and spotted Tyler and Haiden doing the same thing — then glanced back in front of me and took notice in Kyle grabbing herself a cutie that was trying to pass by before throwing that ass in a circle for him.
Dj Chose started to mix in another track during “Pop That” and I could already tell what song it was. Rich Gang is known to have some pretty legit songs as well and “Tell Em Lies" just so happened to be my jam too.
"Ima pull up eat on that pussy and dip." I rapped along to the song again, slowing up my grinds on the guy behind me just a bit. "Ima keep one inside the chamber like Wilt." I continued, clearly feeling the music and myself as well.
"She just want me to keep the lies all to myselffff." My cousin Haiden joined in singing the song before bending all the way over to grab her ankles, allowing just her ass to shake on the guy that she was dancing with.
She was definitely feeling the liquor that we had at the pre-game. I think we all were actually. All I could do was giggle to myself at the guy’s face because I could tell he wasn’t ready for all of that ass being thrown on him.
The guy that Tyler was dancing on was hanging in there though, which made me proud. A guy that had rhythm and could dance always won points with us.
A little after the first verse of the song, the guy that I was dancing on started slowing up his speed a little; which indicated to me that he was getting a little weary.
"You okay back there?" I asked over my shoulder before pushing up against him hard and letting nothing but my ass vibrate on his rock hard shaft as the chorus to the song dropped again.
His hands traveled up my back and back down to my ass before giving it an acute squeeze.
"I’m tired as hell girl. You got my ass back here sweating and shit." I smirked and continued grinding on him. He’s tired, sweating uncontrollably and he’s hard as fuck; I didn’t see anything wrong with that combination.
He caught me off guard when he completely stopped dancing though. He placed his hands on my hips and slowly moved me to the side so that he could stand up straight. He gave me a weak ass smile then walked off towards the bar.
I just stood there for a moment, baffled at what just took place.
No this nigga did not just leave me hanging like that. If it was one thing I couldn’t stand, it was a guy who couldn’t handle dancing with me. If he couldn’t handle doing that with me, then that just confirms that his ass definitely couldn’t handle doing some other shit with me in the long run.
"Lame ass fuck boy." I murmured under my breath before taking a couple steps back so I could hold the wall up. My cousins and Kyle were still next to me in their own zones, giving guys a sample of what they’d never get. All three guys were damn near drooling over their asses the entire time and gripping their hips, all while sweat beads dripped down their faces.
They were all tired but they were definitely trying to hang with the girls until the song faded into another one. They were giving these guys a run for their money though.
I giggled to myself lightly and started scanning the club, trying to see who my next candidate to dance with could be and that’s when my eyes landed on my best friend and her.
I stood there puzzled for a moment, wondering where she came from. I have not seen this girl since the last time I beat her ass and spotting those two conversing with one another in this club, made me want to relapse and beat her ass again.
Logan and Omarion first started dating three years ago. I was completely here for their relationship at first because she made my best friend happy. His happiness is all that I care about and she handled that.
Logan was the first woman Omarion has ever loved and took serious. He gave her time, attention and loyalty, which are the top three things any woman could ask for.
O talked about her to all of us all of the time when they dated. He couldn’t wait to let us in on his feelings for Logan. It even came to the point where he was thinking about taking the next step and proposing to this girl.
At the time, because of his happiness, I was here for it; but once things started to change within their relationship, so did my perspective on her.
Logan may seem sweet externally and whatnot but the girl has serious problems on the inside. I’m not even going to lie, she fooled the fuck out of me….shit, all of us actually.
She was aware of my position in Omarion’s life and how long I’ve been in it. So once her jealous tendencies started to reveal themselves, I got confused. She slowly started to question him about us and O would always remind her that I was nothing more than his best friend and that she has nothing to worry about — which she didn’t.
Omarion reassuring Logan never stopped her from asking. Her off suspicions and jealousy started to become more apparent and her personality did an entire three-sixty. She started accusing him of cheating on her with me and several other women when he was nothing but faithful to her.
It came down to the point where she tried forcing him to stop talking to me and she even went as far as to put a tracking device on his car and on his phone without him knowing about it.
The bitch is crazy, bi-polar and after she started changing for the worse, I started to despise the thot. My fingers stayed itching to beat her ass after I found out she wanted him to drop me as a best friend all because of her insecurities.
She started to become controlling as time went on though and that’s when O finally broke up with her. That break up clearly didn’t mean shit because he took her back after her sorry ass apology.
Shortly after they got back together, everything was cool until she started to put her hands on him. He let it slide the first couple of times but he hemmed her ass up after a while to remind her who she was dealing with.
O was raised not to put his hands on a woman, so he handled that situation to the best of his ability, still making sure to get his point across. That didn’t stop her though — she soon started to pull knives out, threatening to kill him. She tried suffocating him in his sleep, throwing pots and pans at him, slashing his tires — all because she still thought he was cheating on her and playing her.
The funny thing about that is, every woman that ever tried to talk to him while they were together, he turned them down because he was so in love with Logan. She was his first love and he showed that time and time again. He went the distance for her, only to have it backfire and not be enough for her.
They ended up breaking up again and she started to lightweight stalk him after that. Every time he told me about the shit going down in their relationship, I’d always get pissed. I told him if she ever crossed my path, I was going to beat her ass. He thought I was playing but I wasn’t. I protect those I care about and I cared about him — still do, so I always have back door.
He’s not able to put the paws on them but I can.
A little after their break up, I caught her slipping in the Meadows Mall. She was with a group of guys and I just so happened to be by myself. I walked up to her and stopped in front of her. I asked her if we had a problem and the bitch attempted to get smart. She even went as far as trying to demand me to stay away from Omarion. I didn’t understand her point in that because they weren’t even together so I shrugged that shit off.
I stepped closer to her and asked her if we had a problem again because she never really answered my question the first time. She ended up trying to brush past me but in doing so, she bumped the fuck out of me causing me to stumble back a bit.
I politely reached back and grabbed her by her neck, swinging her down onto the ground and giving her a proper ass whooping right there in the food court. Left her with a broken nose and everything. The guys that were with her didn’t even help. They just stood there and watched the shit go down — one of them even recorded it while yelling “Worldstar” the entire time.
Omarion was pissed but I didn’t give a fuck. I was looking out for my best friend. I don’t let anyone come into his life and hurt him the way that she did and just expect to get away with it. He loved Logan so damn much and for her to just snap like that because she thought he was cheating and shit was unnecessary. O is such a great guy and any woman would be lucky as hell to have him in their life but she was too blind and insecure to see that.
That wasn’t the only time her and I fought either. We fought again after her nose healed and that’s when she tried to run up behind me. I thought she would have learned from the first fight but she didn’t, so I had to make sure she did that time.
They started talking again while he was on tour — why? I really don’t know but that was short lived. Shocking, right?
I was just glad to hear that he’s washed his hands of her for good but now they’re standing in this club, conversing and smiling in each other’s faces as if nothing ever happened. She’s an ex for a reason so I was just hoping she didn’t try to maneuver her way back into his life.
I guess he felt me staring at him because he turned to look at me just as my final thoughts concluded.
He winked at me then moved his pointer finger in a “come here” motion before licking over his lips. I left my cousins and Kyle and walked over to where he was standing. Once I made my way over to him, I stood directly in front of him, as Logan stood next to him. I heard her suck her teeth then mumble some shit under her breath.
I glanced at her and started at her for a moment before speaking.
"Do we have a problem?" I quizzed audibly as Chose dropped DeJ Loaf’s "Try Me.”
"Nope…" She retorted with a smile on her face. "But I hear you have a problem with bars. Try to stay away from those bottles and glasses next time." She spat before I jerked my head back slightly.
"Omar…" She interrupted me, looking up at Omarion and leaning closer to him. "I’m about to head back over to my VIP booth. It was nice seeing you again hun." She said before rolling her eyes at me and walking off.
I swear I could not stand her and I already knew the feeling was mutual. I just wanted to know why O was talking to her like nothing negative ever happened between the two of them though. I also needed to know how she knew about that bar incident.
I had to be sure to ask him that later because tonight was not the proper place nor the time to do so.
"So I see ol’ boy couldn’t keep up with you over there." He stated with a smirk on his face, snapping me out of my intuitions.
Omarion knew that I liked to dance. I didn’t take it too serious like Avery did though since that’s her major, but him and I used to dance together all the time.
He was pretty much the only guy who could keep up with me in that aspect and he always thought it was funny when the next guy couldn’t . ”So I see your ass was watching me.” I replied while poking him softly in his nose.
"Maybe." He shrugged and sat his drink down on the wall behind him. He returned his attention back to me and grabbed me by my waist, pulling me in closer to him. "You look good tonight shorty. See you wore the outfit after all.” He finished, referring to the hard time I gave him after he damn near demanded me to wear what he wanted me to tonight.
"Yea,yea, yea. Only because you fixed me something to eat." I laughed and covered my face, forgetting for a split second that he hated when I did so.
"Mhm" He turned me around and bent me over swiftly. He began slow grinding on me — matching every stroke to the beat of his song “Paradise" perfectly that was blasting through the speakers in the club.
Now this is that shit I like.
He slid his right hand up to my shoulder and placed the other in the middle of my back. He pressed down hard causing me to deepen my arch. He returned his left hand to my hips and continued to grind his hips and thrust his shaft into the crevice of my ass.
After thrusting and rolling his hips into me for a few more moments, he then spun me around and kneeled down a bit. He placed his arms in between my legs and picked me up slowly. With his arms still underneath my thighs, he placed both of his hands on my back for secure purposes and began bouncing me up and down to the beat of “Is That Pussy Mine" by Dj Chose himself.
At this point, I was so glad I chose to wear some spandex shorts underneath this skirt of mine.
With every thrust that he made, I swear the entire population of Tryst had their eyes on us — including Logan. Since that bitch wanted a show, I was gladly about to give her ass one.
I lifted my right leg straight in the air; letting my past gymnastics classes work their magic and watched as his eyes traveled up my leg slowly. I then brought my leg down and placed it on the ground while my left leg was still bent in his right arm. I removed my other leg from his tight grasp, turned around and pushed him against the wall with slight force and told him not to move after adjusting my skirt.
It wasn’t long before my ass was slowly rotating around on his dick. I felt him growing larger by the second and smirked to myself.
He placed his hands on my ass and started to caress it. I guess he couldn’t take not moving any more because he pulled me up by hair lightly and wrapped his arms around me as I smiled.
"B…" He started, pushing his face into my hair so I could hear him. "Mm. Never mind shorty." Turning around to face him, a confused look started to appear on my face.
"What’s wrong, O?" He shook his head and looked off to the side. Looking back at me, he flicked underneath my chin with his pointer finger and licked over his lips.
"Nothing. I’m straight ma."
I knew for a fact Omarion was telling lies. Something was on his mind but I wasn’t going to push the issue.
"I’m going to go back over to my cousins and Kyle, okay?" Nodding his head, he looked me up and down before smirking a bit.
"Bet Goldie. Ima see yall in our VIP section in a minute."
"What the hell that, ma’am?" I asked Blair as she stopped walking and stood in the middle of her cousins and I. She didn’t answer. Instead, all she did was bob her head along to Trina’s "Look Back at Me." I jolted her lightly and gawked at her for a moment before calling out her name. "B.."
"Huh?" She turned to look at me.
"What the hell was that over there?" I pointed over in Omarion’s direction as she looked across the way at her best friend.
"What was what?" She queried through a smile, looking back at me.
"Blair, stop playing with my emotions. You and your best friend were practically over there dry humping. I’ve seen you guys dance before and what just took place on the other side of this club, was nothing like that."
She bit down on her bottom lip and started nodding her head to the music again. “I can spin around and keep the dick still inside.” She rapped along with Trina vilifying through the speakers. I sighed then chuckled at her obvious intentions of ignoring me.
"Blair. I wanna know what that was too." Haiden chimed in.
"So do I. Like, is he about to be part of the fam cousin? Or nah?" Tyler quizzed.
"You know you don’t have to tell me lies."
"Why does everyone think I’m lying today?" Blair chuckled. "I’m not lying to you.
"If you say so." I watched as Blair shifted all of her weight from one hip to the other.
"We were just dancing. You know, kind of what yall and yall boy toys were doing before I left from over here."
"That was different though, B." I replied.
"How was that different? You guys were pretty much doing the same exact shit that O and I were doing."
"Negative. Quentin didn’t pick my ass up and fuck me in the air." I watched as her lips formed the letter "O," which I thought was ironic and hilarious.
"But wait…you know his name?" She probed, squinting her eyes.
"Yes girl, I had to get all of his information — name and number. He was too good of a dancer for me to let him slip away. Not to mention that face….girl, that face. Let me tell you."
"He was kinda cute.” Tyler concurred.
"Kinda?" I mocked. "Do I need to go find him again so you can get a better look at him?"
"No, KC. There’s no need for that." She giggled. "You know kinda is my word. Q was fine."
"Now that’s better. I couldn’t let Quentin walk away without me getting his shit." I laughed before high-fiving Haiden, as she laughed along with me.
"See, you’re worse than me. Your ass got his government and shit within ten minutes of meeting him. Don’t come for me KC." She snickered and turned her head to look across the club.
I watched as Omarion nodded his head and winked at Blair. She licked over her lips then turned her head back around and looked at me. All I could do was shake my head.
"What KC? Damn!" I started laughing as she joined in with me.
"Nothing at all Blair…" I commenced. She knew exactly why I was shaking my head but I just left it at that. Right as I went to open my mouth to speak again, I felt a pair of hands grab hold of my arm.
"Happy birthday bitchhhhhh!" Avery bellowed out as Tristan and Drew walked around me.
"Happy birthday baby girl!" Drew yelled out next before everyone else shouted out one big ass "happy birthday" in unison — and it wasn’t long before I heard Dj Chose’s voice booming through every single speaker in this club next.
"Yo. I just wanna give a shout out to my girl Kyle. It’s her mothafuckin birthday! Happy birthday shawty! It’s yo day! Live it up ma."
The large smile on my face couldn’t amount to my level of true exhilaration and happiness right now. “Thank you guys!” I yelled out through my smile. I can’t believe I wasn’t excited for my twenty-first birthday. I’m honestly enjoying myself right now and I thank not only my girls for that but I thank O as well.
Without him, we would probably be at Tristan’s house watching something on Netflix.
My crew formed a circle around me as Chose dropped Beat King’s “Stand Behind Her.” I’m not going to lie, this is one of my favorite songs so I got live as hell once I heard the intro to this song.
"Who in the hell got that ass? Who finna pop that fuckin’ pussy for this cash?" I rapped along with Beatking with my arms in the air.
"Who single and ain’t got a man?" Drew started stipper walking over to me before standing behind me and slapping my ass.
"If you got some good pussy, bitch clap ya hands."
"Ima stand behind her. Ima stand behind her. Ima stand behind her." Drew continued rapping as I bent over and started twerking on her.
This is what had dudes mad at us every time we went out. The fact that my girls and I would stay dancing with each other more than we did with them. Granted, we would dance on guys but we stayed dancing on each other more. Like now for instance — I was dancing on Drew, Tris was dancing on Blair and Avery was in the middle of Haiden and Tyler. This was just our thing.
As the DJ faded into the next song, we all brought our dancing to a halt and turned to face each other. “Tell me I didn’t break that ass off, Rew.”
"Girl, bye. You didn’t do shit." She retorted, causing us all to burst out into a fit of giggles.
"Lying ass. It’s alright, we both know the truth." She sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes playfully.
"Nah. Ima need you to takes some lessons from Avery or B." She glanced over at Blair. "I peeped how you were working your best friend over there in the corner."
"Stoooopppppp." Blair drawled out, nudging Drew playfully.
"Hey…" She started, holding her hands up in the air. "I’m just saying; and I’m just messing with you KC. You know how to work those hips boo." She laughed and switched her clutch from one hand to the other.
"Tell me something I don’t know." I stuck my tongue out a bit, biting on it while patting my hips to the beat of the current song that was playing. "But listen. I’m about to go to the ladies room then stop by the bar to grab a drink since I can get one now." I raised my hand in the air before swinging it around in a circle with a smile on my face, showing my excitement of finally being legal. "You guys can head to our VIP section now. I’ll be in there in a bit."
"Okay, Ms. Legal Tender. Don’t get fucked up at the bar." Tristan stated.
"I won’t. I won’t." I smiled and turned on my heels to start heading towards the ladies room.
"Can I get a Blue Hawaiian please?" I politely asked the male bartender before pulling both my I.D and American Express card out of my clutch.
"Can I see your I.D?" The bartender inquired as I handed it to him proudly.
"Well happy birthday." He stated. "Would you like to start a tab?" The bartender quizzed, handing me my I.D back.
"Thank you." I replied through a hefty smile. And no thank you." I shook my head and extended my arm out, getting ready to pay for my drink but the touch of someone’s hand on my arm stopped me. I hastily jerked my arm back and snapped my head towards the individual to my left, sighing once I noticed whom it was.
"You can let my arm go now." I snapped, eyeing his hand until he released his grip from around my arm.
"My bad ma. I just don’t want ya payin’ fa ya own drink." August replied while pulling out his black card and handing it to the bartender. I squinted my eyes and tilted my head a little to the left.
"Aug, I could have bought my own drink and you know that."
"Indeed I do — but see tha thing about that is ya shouldn’t have ta pay fa own shit, especially when I’m sittin’ right hea."
"Well thank you but just know I could have gotten it." He smirked and looked over my body. He returned his eyes back to mine and just stared at me. I could tell he had a lot to say but he probably didn’t know where to start.
"Hey, Trey day." I said while breaking eye contact with August and looking over at Trey. He unglued his eyes from his phone and nodded his head at me.
"Nothing much. Just enjoying my birthday celebration."
"As you should." He smiled and leaned in to give me a hug. "Happy birthday, ma." I wrapped my arms around his shoulders to return the gesture and let him go after doing so.
"Thank you." He responded with a "You’re welcome" and returned his attention back to his phone.
"Babeh girl.." I heard August call out before I turned around to look him in his eyes.
Hearing him call me that brought back way too many memories that I wasn’t ready to relive right now. I glanced down to the ground but it wasn’t long before August placed his index and middle fingers underneath my chin to lift my head up, causing me to look him in the eyes.
"Happeh birthday beautiful." I stared at him for a moment, admiring the man who once gave me the World. His skin was still as smooth as it was back when him and I met — his lips still as plump — and his eyes, my goodness his eyes. They still held so many stories and so many feelings that I knew for a fact were still there for me.
At this point, I was wondering if he could tell the same thing about mine.
"Thank you, Auggie." I was still in a trance…a trance so deep that my voice came out quiet and soft-like. I cleared my throat and slightly shook my head as bartender walked back over to us before handing August his card and handing me my drink. Thanking the bartender, I held the drink up to my lips and began taking enlarged gulps of it.
Clearly, I needed this drink more than I thought I did.
The bartender walked over to the Vodka and Patron bottles and poured four shots of each then walked back over to August and Trey, handing the shots to them.
August threw all four of his shots of Vodka back within seconds like a pro and Trey followed suit with his Patron shots. These niggas were definitely on Blair’s level when it came to drinking.
"What have ya been up to though Kyle?" August inquired, pushing his shot glasses towards the bartender.
"Nothing really, just working. How about you?"
"Same shit, different day. Maybe if ya were apart of my days again, then It’d be some different shit."
"Aug, we’ve already been down this road. You know——."
"Ya don’t do relationships…it’s complicated…work comes first; I know Kyle." He said dryly.
It’s not that I don’t do relationships; it’s just the fact that a relationship would complicate a lot of things. I feel that in this exact point in my life, a relationship wouldn’t do me any justice.
August and I go way back. We met through Trey and I started feeling him off the back. Our vibe was apparent and I swear his accent always did some things to me.
Feelings were mutual with us but when I started working in a new field, it prohibited us from ever dating. I explained to him that relationships weren’t for me but seeing him again after all of this time is making me want to take back what I said.
"I wasn’t even going to say that."
"Then what were ya going ta say then Kyle?"
"…Don’t even worry about it." I glanced down and started stirring my drink around with the straw that I wasn’t using. "Is Chris here?" I questioned.
"Nah…" Trey retorted. "He had to go handle some shit tonight. He told me to tell you happy birthday though."
"Tell him I said thank you." I went to chug the rest of my drink before sitting my now empty glass down on the bar top. I pulled my phone out from my clutch and unlocked, tapping the twitter icon to get ready to post a tweet.
@KrownMe_Kyle: Birthday drinks aren’t doing me any justice right now…Think I may need a few more.
After sending my tweet off, I locked my phone and threw it back inside of my clutch.
"Ya need ta pull that phone back out." August stated, glancing up at me before pulling me closer to him so that I was positioned in between his legs.
"Because I know ya deleted my number. So pull it out and give it ta me."
"You don’t know shit." I retorted before pulling my phone out.
"Then why did ya just pull it out?" He smirked before snatching the phone out of my hand.
He unlocked it and pulled up the keypad before entering his number. Once he clicked the save button he handed my phone back to me. I looked down at the screen on my phone and noticed that he saved his name as “Aug Misses Ya”.
I bit down on my bottom lip and allowed my eyes to travel from my phone, up to his eyes.
"…Uhm.." I honestly didn’t know what to say. Well I knew what I wanted to say but I didn’t know if I should say it, so I just switched topics.
"Are you guys coming into my VIP section?" I quizzed, as I noticed Omarion approaching us out of my peripheral.
"Of course, KC. We gotta bring in your twenty-first the right way." Trey replied before tipping the bartender and standing up off the barstool.
"You mean get her fucked up?" O chimed in as he made his way over to us.
"Yea…that." Trey chuckled as I shook my head. "And don’t trip. You got Aug here to take care of you." I looked at him and noticed a smirk being etched across his face.
I leaned over and pushed his shoulder before he busted out laughing. “I’m not about to get fucked up. My liquor tolerance is high, thank you very much.” I replied.
"High to who? KC…you’re a lightweight. I don’t know why you’re sitting here lying."
"You don’t know my life. I can handle my liquor!" I yelled playfully through my smile.
"Ya need ta stop lyin’ ta yaself, ma." August glanced at me with low eyes — those same low eyes that used to do wonders to me and my center years ago.
Clearing my throat and removing myself from the middle of Aug’s legs, I quickly changed the subject and ran my fingers through my curls.
"S-so I think we should head to the VIP section now." As I concluded my sentence, I heard a few chuckles escape Aug’s mouth as he nodded his head.
"Ight, KC. Let’s go." He retorted before leading the way.
