You'll most likely cry, you're welcome
“I sometimes wonder…” She shrugged. “I mean what if everyone’s lied about death? What if there is no Fade, but instead you’re just stuck in your body forever, conscious but unable to move?” Great. She’d wanted to try to lighten up the mood. Nice. Try. “Well, bodies do…” He cleared his troat. “You know, rot.” “Hmm, good point.” “Although, as afterlife nightmares go, for me? I worry about the whole zombie-apocalypse thing.” He picked up his spoon and started to eat, still holding on her free hand. “That would suck. You kick it and then you roam the earth, stinking up the place on an Atkins diet that, like, never ends.” She put up her spoon to stop him. “Well, now, hold on a minute – see you’d just be hungry, right? And if you found people to eat, then, you know, life is pretty good if you’re a zombie.” “Not if the lower half of your face drops off. Without a jaw, how do you feed yourself? Then you’re just hungry and can’t do anything about it. Total suckage.” “Straws.” “What?” “You just need straws.” “Hard to fit a femur through a straw.” “And a blender. Straws and blender. Then you’re set.” With a bark sound, Trez threw his head back and laughed so hard, it was a wonder he didn’t wake half the mansion up. “Oh, my God, that is so sick.” He leaned in and kissed her. “So fucking sick.”

“Where do you want to go? The clinic is not on the list… what is?” Selena sat bacn in her chair. Now she was the one staring at the windows. “I like Rehvenge’s Great Camp, if that’s what you mean?” “Be bolder. Think bigger. Come one, there has to be somewhere exciting. The Taj Mahal, Paris –” “We can’t go to Paris.” “Says who?” “Ahh..” “Never met Ahhh, don’t know him, don’t care how big he is - if he’s standing in our way? I'ma murder the son of a bitch.” “You are so adorable.” Selena bent in and kissed him on the mouth.

Book Review: The Shadows
Some Spoilers:
5 Heart-wrenching Stars.
Trez “Latimer” doesn’t really exist. And not just because the identity was created so that a Shadow could function in the underbelly of the human world. Sold by his parents to the Queen of the S’Hsibe as a child, Trez escaped the Territory and has been a pimp and an enforcer in Caldwell, NY for years- all the while on the run from a destiny of sexual servitude. He’s never had anyone he could totally rely on... except for his brother, iAm. iAm’s sole goal has always been to keep his brother from self-destructing- and he knows he’s failed. It’s not until the Chosen Serena enters Trez’s life that the male begins to turn things around... but by then it’s too late. The pledge to mate the Queen’s daughter comes due and there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and no negotiating. Trapped between his heart and a fate he never volunteered for, Trez must decide whether to endanger himself and others- or forever leave behind the female he’s in love with. But then an unimaginable tragedy strikes and changes everything. Staring out over an emotional abyss, Trez must find a reason to go on or risk losing himself and his soul forever. And iAm, in the name of brotherly love, is faced with making the ultimate sacrifice...
This is me by the way...
I honestly don't know what to say about this book. I want to personally hunt down J.R. Ward and beg her to rewrite this ending but at the same time, I get it. I get why certain things had to happen for other things to occur. I HATE it with everything that I am but I GET IT. Trez Latimer was a guy I didn't like. I felt like he was selfish and just gave no thought to his ever selfless brother, iAm. Even in this book, he had me scoffing but you know what? Him with Selena...he was the man he strived to be, the man he never thought he could be or he ever known he wanted to be. I actually grew to love him through Selena's eyes. Selena was such a great female of worth. She surprised me. She fought for everything she wanted and she FOUGHT and FOUGHT. I loved her and I think she will always have a place in my heart. iAm was the brother I felt for from the get-go. I loved his unfailing ability to care for his brother. He never expected anything from Trez. I felt he needed love more than anyone and he kind of got it... with maichen. I wanted more for them and we didn't get it. If I counted their pages I swear it would be like max, 50 pages out of a 576 page book. I guess it was more Trez and Selena's book for certain reasons but I didn't feel iAm andmaichen's love AT ALL.... But I'll let it go because they seem to be happy and I want that for him and I think we'll revisit them later on. See, people think that books are just books. That, we don't get emotionally invested with the lives of the characters, or their feelings or just anything that happens in a book. People also think that it's just make believe and you're stupid if you let it effect you enough to make you cry or growl in anger, or even to make you smile like a dork. This book, this series, is more than just a BOOK. J.R. Ward writes in such a way that you feel what the characters feel, you cry when they cry, you get swept up in this world and you think that everything will be okay but sometimes, life isn't cookie-cutter perfect and sometimes...books aren't either. This book shows you that the lives of characters aren't fairytale perfect even though it should be because, come on, it's a fiction love story.
But, don’t worry, I’ll be okay and when you get to read this book, you will be too.
