Forge-uary Day #06 - First Date (Ft. Tri x Lydia)
---
It was surreal to be back in that hall… Watching them dance across the marbled floor. The hushed chatter as dozens of vampires go about, enjoying themselves.
Dimitri had grown up in this castle his entire life and nothing has changed at all. Yet it felt so foreign to be among the guests, hiding among the faceless crowd… Especially with.. her…
During his time living among the dragons, Dimitri held himself very carefully and cautious. Always afraid to say or do the wrong thing. A life of abuse had made him a man who always second-guessed his actions. But now… Now Lydia was surprised to find him quite in his element.
Dragons weren't particularly known for their dances. Even for a goddess like herself. They were much too large and needed too much space to move so elegantly. Yet Dimitri practically carried her across the floor, effortless and confident. The sway of their bodies smooth and controlled, yet totally relaxed. And all the while he gave her that same warm gentle smile. That smile that scratched the hording instinct in her, wanting to pull him in close and never let go…
"You're holding yourself quite well." Dimitri hummed.
"I feel ridiculous." she admitted with a small chuckle.
"You keep saying that but.. you're still beautiful as you always have been." he shrugged.
It was just a casual comment. He wasn't lying. He wasn't exaggerating. He was being honest but… something… shifted. No… something had been shifting between them for a while. And he didn't notice it… Or maybe he was just trying to ignore it. Because suddenly she's reaching down and kissing him, and it sparks something in Dimitri that he hadn't felt in a long, long, long time…
