Any separation inevitably hurts, and with Ryan's harsh words, Penny couldn't help but cry.

Also I’m not sure what’s wrong with their damn kitchen, every time they try to eat a slice of ‘za they always complain about a wall issue? they wildin or something

Josephine and Cinnamon are anxious to get more pledge prospects on board, and Nova's anxious to expand her dating pool, so a little mixer is in order. Ginevra, however, has more urgent matters to attend to. She and Shaw haven't been to the new restaurant together yet!

Ryan was obviously not handling the breakup well and he needed to do something about it. He rang the dorbell of the Tri-Var sorority house and, when Penny showed up, he begged her to come back to him.

She was hurt; that was clear in her eyes when she rejected him this time, just as she had done the previous time. So he apologized:

"I know I wasn't kind with my words. I'm so sorry for how mean I was to you, I really do love you."

"Ryan, I know you regret it and that you love me. I love you too. But sometimes other things come into play, change needs to happen. So I'm still gonna say no."

"Are you sure there's no one else? You're not in love with someone else?"

She thought about Isabella and her thoughts became tangled.

"Goodbye, Ryan."

During a party in the sorority house, Penny witnessed a girl flirting with Ryan. What made her upset wasn't her jealousy - Ryan turned it down, after all -, it was the fact that he wasn't free to pursue someone else. She felt like she was keeping him from being free.

"Ryan, I need to talk to you... I saw that girl flirting with you."

"Don't worry, I told her I have a girlfriend."

"I know you did. And that's why I think we should break up."

"What?!"

"Look, I know everything's going well with us. But we've been dating and committed to each other for so long, I just can't stop thinking I might have kept you from doing what you really want..."

"But you haven't! You're the one who makes me happy and I don't wanna be without you. Please think this through, don't leave me."

"I think this might be better for us, Ryan. If we're truly meant to be, then we'll come back to each other."

"Cut the crap! This is about you, isn't it? You're not concerned about me, you just want to woohoo with someone else, and you came up with this so you can look good."

"How can you say something that that? I think you should leave. Now, Ryan! Get out!"

“You’ve got to be kidding me”, Martin thought. “She doesn’t want me. A girl like that will never want me.”

“I know what you’re thinking,” she said, tucking a strand of his hair behind his ear, "that I can't like you. But why would I be bere if I didn't?"

But maybe he should believe it... she was really persistent indeed...
