Revisiting Triangle Theory
Many many years ago I drew some lines on the official aspect wheel, and my friend made a post about it, and we called it Triangle Theory. I'd like to revisit Triangle Theory because I've grown and evolved and changed, and also the lines I drew have awful colors. I present to you THE NEW TRIANGLE THEORY:
As you can see, it's still just a bunch of triangles, but now they're like... distinct from one another? Incredible concept, I know. Somehow back when I was a Seer of Light I never considered that I should maybe make the literal manifestations of Light be more Seerable. Oh well.
So what is the theory? Basically, the idea is that these triangles here contain three aspects that have some fairly strong links. I'm on record as believing that you can probably draw any shape on the wheel and come up with some sort of meaning for it, but I do have a soft spot for these triangles, and I think they might have a bit more weight than the rest.
Part of my revisiting is that I've come up with four VERY COOL new words for each triangle. So let's get into them, and what they mean.
Presence, the green triangle: Space, Rage, and Life are focused on that which is. Space is every individual moment, ever-present and vastly expansive. Rage is the truth of our current reality as it tangibly exists. Life is endless growth, gaining more of what they already have.
The name for the group goes beyond "the present," however. These aspects are very potent, there's an aura to them. Their ideas can be controversial, but they demand the space to exist, even if they have to make it themselves. They don't necessarily have to encroach on anyone else's territory, but they're certainly there, and you shouldn't be surprised if they come knocking.
Eventuality, the red triangle: Time, Hope, and Doom are focused on that which may come to be. Time is the path ahead, always one step beyond what you just took. Hope is the possibility for something greater than what has come before. Doom is the absolute end and the certainty one will reach it.
For a time I considered calling this group "Rails." They're the tracks laid down in front of a high speed train, adjusting their trajectory in a route that's at once guaranteed and completely open-ended. No one knows exactly what the future holds, but it's coming, and you better be prepared for some sharp turns. Just remember that this too shall pass, for better or for worse.
Connections, the yellow triangle: Light, Mind, and Blood are focused on the lines between things. Light is the narrative and symbolism that ties together vast swathes of ideas. Mind is the synapses and logic which make everything flow from A to B, adjusting and accounting for it all. Blood is the culture built between every individual, society at large and the bonds that must be respected.
This group name is perhaps the most obvious? It's also the first one I came up with. What more can I really say? These aspects are high concept, ever grander and more complex than any one person can ever fully appreciate. Only in the vast collective can anything truly monumental be done, whether it be of cells or celestial bodies.
Singularity, the blue triangle: Void, Heart, and Breath are focused on the individual existence of things. Void is the little moments outside of any great vision, each and every part taken on its own merit. Heart is the grand inner workings of the human soul, the intent behind one's eyes. Breath is the ways in which we are free, the disconnect between the world around us and our own experience.
This group has my favorite name of all of these. These aspects are black holes, somehow as infinitely expansive as those in the triangle that came before, and yet impossible to grasp at. Nothing tangible exists in this triangle, it's all extremely fake and yet undeniably real.
So that's Triangle Theory! Did you enjoy triangling with me? Wow. What a great time we all had together just now, triangling the aspects. Thanks for reading! Come back again soon.
