While the dinner was cool and all, fancy had never been Riley’s brand. So while the others mingled in their expensive dresses and ate fish eggs or whatever, Riley had taken it upon herself to explore the rest of the community center. When else was she gonna get the chance to poke around the place unattended? Sure, it probably didn’t house any mind-blowing secrets but she wouldn’t know until she had a look.

She had just slipped into an unlocked door just down the hallway and was rummaging around what appeared to be art room for a less suspicious light than the big one when she heard someone else enter the room and jumped. “Holy shit, dude,” she replied as she turned around towards the noise. “Don’t sneak me up on me like that.”

The smile was pretty much plastered to Scarlett’s face as her eyes scanned the crowd. Half of them were hopeless cases but there were a few that looked promising, at least. A large part of her longed for her favorite party past time -- gossip -- but she was here to promote this whole thing, not discuss how that girl’s shoe choice was honestly nauseating. So she made the rounds, champagne in hand, to bless everyone with her presence.

“It’s lovely, isn’t it,” she mused as she approached another stranger. “The champagne is imported from France, have you tried it?”

‘Not gonna lie. I’m not sure what I was expecting when I signed up for the project, but I guess I kinda thought it was going to be different.’ He stubs his cigarette and throws it into a bin right outside of the fire station. It’s been a slow day, in fact, all days up till now had been slow. No fires, no car accidents - the biggest action was getting a cat off the tree and that had been useless - if it can climb up it can get down on it’s own. ‘I mean it’s so quiet and normal. I guess I just thought I was gonna end up in some post-apocalyptic novel or something.’

Clem was beyond nervous. This was far from her type of thing Church dinners she could get behind, and the gallery openings were usually just apps.  She smiled at the nearest person, “ You enjoying the night?” She asked.

Eloise was trying her best to not stick out like a sore thumb. Her life had never been particularly charmed, so a fancy dinner party filled with little things to eat left her well outside her comfort zone. And yet, well, that wasn’t too much of a problem was it? This whole thing was about finally letting people express themselves to the truest form. And what did she feel like expressing? One hundred tiny finger sandwiches.

“These are delicious. Come, come here you have to try them.” She let out a gentle moan. “Oh my fuck I’ve never tasted food this good before. Have you? Growing up my ideal of a balanced dinner was the mac and cheese shaped like bunny rabbits.”

My name is Andrea Reyes and I am the local project manager. I will be overseeing the day-to-day in Westfield and am in charge of ensuring the project is able to progress without issue. Both me and my assistant Ms. Maleki - whom I’m sure you’ll meet in due time - are very excited to have you all and look forward to exploring a new way of living with you all. Isn’t this all just so much fun? While my stuff is being moved in, I already had a chance to head down to the beach and I have to say -- I can’t wait for it to get warmer so I can make proper use of it. How are you all finding your accommodations?

Yo, is it just me or is anyone else getting Truman Show vibes? Like, are we also secretly in a reality show? Is that chick at the coffee show real? Does she work there because she’s into coffee or does the project thing pay her? It’s all pretty wild. Anyway, before we gotta play dress up tonight, I’mma explore around this dystopia a bit.
