tricourage:
the way the younger boy talks is a bit unsettling. taunting and almost instigating, it feels as though the other is trying to elicit some sort of reaction from him. how unfortunate for him that link didn’t unless necessary. unintimidated, he crosses his arms as the other approaches, heading on the defensive (just in case).
was he tired? yes. would he rest? not a chance.
he gives the other a disagreeing shake of his head. there was no time to rest. he then bore his gaze onto the other, as if the other boy were deflecting. with a soft exhale through his nose, link lowers his arms. pulling out the cellphone he was given, he types out something before showing it to the other.
[you would too if you just arrived here.]
so - he won’t rest then. hanako doesn’t really? care? honestly, he doesn’t know who this is so his sleeping habits don’t matter to him.
“Well.. if you work yourself to the brink, I think we’ll become much closer muuuch sooner than you’d think.” he entirely means because if he dies from it, what’s closer to a ghost than another ghost? not in a bonding sense, either. but, there was that thing he remembers someone saying once, about how the dead get brought back to life here ❪ evidently, every dead except hanako and another one he knows. ❫
but.. he pauses for a moment so he can read the message.
... and, well, yeah. hanako did actually! he was aaaaaall over the place. so he nods while sticking his hands in his pocket as he gives a half-hearted kick to a rock.
“I went pretty much everywhere, but I don’t need to rest. So it’s not the same, really?” he doesn’t move any closer from where he’s at, as much as he wants to. “Welcome, though! Fresh bodies to the island is probably a good thing. I dunno. I haven’t been here suuuper long, myself. Did’ya eat yet? Or have you just been wandering the whole time?”
