𝙱 ⸻ she could only guess, how bad it probably looked. as she stood in the middle of literal chaos. her powers quite literally out of whack as she worked to reign her emotions in. a stressful meeting with her brother sending her through the ringer, as per usual. but the moment she hears her phone, and sees the name upon her screen. she doesn't hesitate in answering. her tone clearly giving something away if hope picked it up. ❛   hey no, it's never a bad time for you. ever !!   ❜ to most, the words would be said to simply placate. to divert from what was happening. but not with her, and never with hope. she'd promised to always be there for that little girl. which as long as she had breathe in her lungs, she was going to keep that promise. [    even if she's halfway through a total meltdown.  ]  ❛   you okay little one, what's wrong ??   ❜

Gabriella never thought that it was possible coming across someone as unique as her little niece. They weren’t the same - not exactly - and yet, somehow, Gabriella could see Nessie in Hope. Her golden gaze, unblinking yet kind, softened at the girl. There was no threat to Gabriella's demeanor. Even as a vampire she carried the same great compassion that had amplified into her immortal life.

"You remind me of someone ..." Gabriella said gently in her musical voice, like soft summer rain. "My niece." She clarified, her marble lips tugging up into a small fond smile, "She's ... born unique like you too."

KLAUS HAD SAT FAR TOO LONG STARING AT A PAINTING HE WASN’T PARTICULARLY IMPRESSED BY. why? it wasn’t because this piece had a buyer or a place to be. rather, he needed the distraction. anything. something to occupy his hands before his thoughts found worse uses for them. layers of paint had dried over his fingers, dark and uneven. somewhat cracked in the spaces where he’d flexed without noticing.

the art upon the canvas was unmistakably abstract. it wasn’t intentional as much as inevitable. the angrier he let himself become, the less control he bothered with. there were too many lines crossed where they didn’t need to. too much pressure in some strokes, not enough in others. colours mismatched in a way he hated. it felt like his mind at that moment. there was too much and not enough happening at once with nowhere clean for it to go.

at least the anger had somewhere to go that wasn’t a throat, right? it was barely an improvement as seen with the state of the canvas and broken frames and brushes scattered about. but, still it was somewhat of an improvement all the same.

when her arms wrapped around him from behind, his tension… stilled. his hand came up and caught her wrist where it rested against him. he didn’t say anything at first. he let the moment stretch long enough to count her breaths against him the way he used to when she fit in both his palms. he turned his head just enough to catch her eyes. “that timing, little wolf. either impeccable or deeply suspicious.”

Gabriella's doe eyes turned wide like a deer caught in headlights. Her mouth opened and closed a few times as if trying to speak - to try to explain herself - but the words were simply unable to come out of her mouth. When they did, her voice took on an octave higher than normal. “No! ... m-maybe a little." Gabriella's pink cheeks burned bright, her tone suddenly sheepishly softer, "I was raised by vampires, not humans ... but I promise I wasn't trying to be reckless."

she had to breathe deeply , she thought being undead would remove this need but for some reason regina george still needed the feeling of calming back down physically . " shut up . " she hissed out , hands on knees as she forced herself to stand up without a physical tremble , no matter how much her body craved hitting the floor . " do your worst . " this training was the worst she'd ever experienced .
