Orders had been clear. Crystal. Question them. Find out what happened. Judah figured it would eventually lead this way. As soon as he looked out his villa window and saw the orange hue glowing above the rooftops he figured that they’d have to figure out how and who.

His ego figured it would be him to figure it out.

The other pirates would question their wards. Judah would question his. Why -- oh why -- did his ward have to be who his ward was. Stubborn. Bull-headed. Entitled. The pirate prayed that her intelligence was more powerful than her pride.

He had his doubts though.

"I figure you’re smart enough to know why I got you here, right?”

Judah sat at the table within his villa. It would’ve been the first time Veronica had been inside. Not many had been inside. The pirate shared enough space when aboard the Black Trident. This? This was his own little slice of heaven. His own, private little Idaho in the tropics. Judah, remembering their time down at the spring pool, pulled out a lit a blunt before he offered it to the woman.

“So please tell me you’re smart enough to have left all fire bug tendencies in your rebellious teenage years. Please.”

Four days after the blaze and the order had finally come down, right from the top. Captives were to be questioned, alibis established, suspects acquired. Felix had yet to meet the royal he was tasked with watching over, having been focused on settling in for the long haul on the island. But necessity breeds, well...necessity. And so Felix found himself down at the water’s edge, approaching a woman who matched the description of the princess he’d been assigned.

"Nadia, I presume?” Feliz began as he approached her, grateful that they were meeting on the beach where the air was clear of the residual smoke from the fire at the villas. “Felix Rylance. Surgeon on the Blue Moon. I’ll be watching over you.” he placed one hand at the small of his back, extending the other towards the princess. “It’s a pity we couldn’t meet under less...chaotic circumstances, yet here we are.”

Alexandra remained under Eli’s care, and on this day she was visiting the infirmary. Maddox used the opportunity and an office in the back to pull her aside privately. He offered a seat across from him at a desk. The pirate folded his hands together and looked the blonde over. “First of all-- how are you feeling today? How is the snake bite healing up?”

The princess’ alibi was solid the night of the fire as she had been with Maddox. However, it didn’t mean there weren’t questions to ask. “So let’s get something out of the way. Obviously you were at my villa the night of the fire. But what do you know about it, Alexandra. What have you heard? Even rumors, I want to hear. Everything. Tell me.”
