Bulgaria e Russia si giocavano la qualificazione a Francia 98 e nel mezzo della tensione Ivanov era lì, al centro dell’area avversaria, un posto che nonostante il ruolo di difensore frequentava spesso, sempre pronto a inzuccare in rete. Fu così che regalò il Mondiale ai suoi dopo che due anni prima li aveva portati allo stesso modo agli Europei. L’epopea bulgara stava giungendo al termine, Dio aveva smesso di essere bulgaro da un po’, ma il Lupo fece in tempo a far urlare al suo paese questo Da! Da! Da!, ritrasmesso integralmente ieri sera dalla TV bulgara dopo quasi 20 anni.
