Some of you know I was struggling with severe TMJ pain the last few weeks. I'm happy to say that pain has subsided. Some of you wrote in to say you also suffer from TMJ pain, and I wanted to share that one exercise that helped alleviate the pain. It was puffing my cheeks. Yes, just that. I was doing trigger point release with my fingers and with dry needles, I used the gua sha stone to massage the areas of my neck, jaw and cheeks. But in the end it was just puffing my cheeks as much as I could, holding it like that for a minute, and using my hands to push the air to the areas of pain to stetch out the cheek muscles and tissues even more, that helped. Everyone's pain is different, and this may not work for you, but it did for me this time, and I thought I should share this in case it helps even one other person.
