so how come the first half of trigun is a fun comedy western about a pacifist hero who never kills and saves everyone. and then the second half of trigun is methodically tearing apart a man’s psyche by forcing him to watch everyone he loves die until he’s completely undone and betrays his own morals leading to a complete breakdown

Finally watching trigun 98 after only seeing the first episode or two years ago and wondering why people keep posting about liking meryl and milly so much like:

I really like the way nightow draws wolfwood here. He looks so kind and pleasant. It's probably because this is the first chapter he appears in but he looks so nice... Like that kind and reassuring cat
