Trimberly Going Camping
Trini and Kim planned to go out together without the guys for a few days before school started in the fall bc although they loved the guys, it was hard to find some Alone Time esp with Zack Lurking Around?
“Zack what the actual fuck”
“well why’d you choose to fuck in here? This ship is public property!”
“Your ass is gonna be ‘public property’ if you don’t leave.”
“Trini that doesn’t even make any sens—“
“Oh my god just get the fuck out.”
Both Trini and Kim had zero idea as to where to go, so naturally Trini asks Billy, who suggests that they go camping out in the forests around Angel Grove. Trini doesn’t think its a bad idea, as her family used to go on frequent outings when she was younger, but the closest thing to camping that Kim has ever done was making pillow forts and sleeping in them
When Trini and Kim start packing for their trip, Trini apparently wasn’t specific enough when she said to “only pack necessities”
“Kim, what is this?”
“Bear repellent.”
“Kim, when I said ‘necessities’ I meant—“
“Fine, fine, but if a bear comes clawing your face off, don’t come crawling to me.”
“I don’t think bears even live around here!!”
At the campsite, Trini knew she was perfectly capable in setting up a tent because she knew how to build it and in fact insisted on getting it done on her own, but bc of her small stature, this was a Two Person Job. Kim couldn’t get over how cute Trini looked when she had trouble (it was similar to the face she’d make when she had trouble with a homework problem, and it was so cute).
“Kim, can you um, get that pole over there, I’m a little short on reach.”
“‘Short on reach’? Was the pun intended?”
“Shut up Hart.”
After cooking a dinner at the campfire, they lay out in their sleeping bags under the stars and talk about Rita and the guys. They basically talk about the future and what their kids’ names will be but they both reveal their fears and insecurities in regards to the future and have a Hart to heart (pun intended).
They also get their Alone Time ;)))) ((I’ll leave that up to the imagination))
A lot of hiking is done and they passed quite a few cool looking flowers they normally didn’t see in Angel Grove. Kim liked putting them in Trini’s hair while she wasn’t looking and managed to sneak enough on to make it look like a little crown on her head, and it made her look so cute that Kim couldn’t help but give her a kiss on the cheek and Trini‘s face turns red even though it’s been more than a year that they’ve been dating because she’s fucking whipped. At one point they passed a beehive on a tree, and Trini couldn’t help but to make a reference to Kehlani’s Song, Honey.
At the last day of their camp out, Trini and Kim start packing up when they hear and see a whole lot of rustling near their cooler, which was behind their tent.
“What in the fresh hell is that?”
“Maybe its a squirrel Trini, don’t stress too much about it.”
Trini peeks behind the tent and yelps as she jumps back, “Oh my fucking god is that a bear?” Kim peeks behind the tent and lo and behold, there it is!
The bear spots the both of them, and Trini is very panicked probably because she’s never come across a fucking wild bear before lmao and she did the first thing that came to mind before dragging Kim into the car and getting out of there.
“Did you just punch that bear in the face?”
“What on earth was I supposed to do??? Shake its hand????”
“No but maybe if we bought my bear repellent and used it—“
“Alright Hart, I apologize for telling you to leave the bear repellent because I should have known that a bear was going to be around the area.”
“That sounded like sarcasm but you know what I’m taking it.”
Other than the bear (which Trini got made fun of after the trip) Kim loved the camping trip and Trini already made a tab in her head that this was a potential Wedding Anniversary Spot for when they get married (both of them knew it wasn’t a matter of if, but of when)
OOF I’m always a sucker for Trimberly/Ranger Christmas stuff:
Trini and Kim are the kind of couple that start listening to Christmas music in November and start decorating right after Thanksgiving?? Trini’s an impulsive shopper when it comes to Christmasand when they go shopping and buy outdoor decorations, she just takes the ones she likes best without really thinking. Kim likes to say she’s better at controlling herself than Trini she really isn’t.
“Trini, we already have light-up lawn deer. We don’t need two more boxes of them.”
“Yeah but like one set is yellow and the other set is pink. Maybe we can even get the red one for Jason and the blue one for Billy.”
“What about Zack?”
“Why would Zack need one?”
Kim and Trini set up Christmas stockings for themselves and the other Rangers (in accordance with their colors, of course.) Even though the guys come over frequently during the year, the entire group is disappointed because they can’t meet up as often because of how busy their jobs get during the season. So they all designate every other Friday as a potluck day and Trini makes cookies for them to eat and they all watch movies together.
Trini and Kim making gingerbread houses sometimes end up in food fights. Sometimes they end up really nice (mostly because one or the other isn’t there because they’re working late). Or sometimes its just something else. But Kim likes working meticulously with her houses while Trini’s a surprisingly spontaneous worker.
“Trin, this is an ungodly amount of frosting. You’re gonna use up all the colors by the time you’re finished with that wall. We need to make it look nice and tidy.”
“No, we need to make it look gay.”
“Trini, no.”
“Trini yes.”
Kim loves taking Trini out on dates. But because she knows that Trini doesn’t like bein in the cold, she breaks into nice places so Trini finds that the her time outside had been worthwhile, but she wonders where did she find these places and how she finds the time to even look (Hint: Kim asks Zack for advice). But Trini’s personal favorite was when they were walking through the woods and into a large clearing in the middle of it, and were just looking up at the stars
“Kim, I swear to God, if you murder me in these woods, I’d never forgive you.”
“Yeah you would, you love me.”
“Shoot that’s true too.”
At one point, Kim takes Trini back home to Angel Grove so they can go back to the cliffs that overlook the town decorated with lights and just watch from afar and just recount and reminisce memories while snow was falling. And Trini, who had to postpone her proposal to Kim for this trip, nervously takes out the little velvet red box that she has been fidgeting with in her coat pocket for all this time and proposes to her.
When they return home on Christmas eve, they set up the fireplace and play soft Christmas music and dance around and Trini mumbles excuses on how she “can’t dance” she actually can she’s just shy until Kim convinces her and both of them are just content and really giddy because they got each other the absolute best presents.
