So, went with the later option on my last post and threw together a moc from some of my Umarak parts real quick. (also sorry about the inconsistent quality/lighting in these pics, it's nigh-impossible to get decent lighting on this guy in this house currently, these were the best I got.)
Anyway, meet Yalmra.
Born in the toxic wastes of his shadowy homeland, Yalmra knew from a young age that physical pursuits would not be his strong suit.
Bandy-legged, with hindered, fused-fingered hands, a hollow body, and continually having to hold his ill-grown form and the toxic, glowing fluid within together with braces, armor, and cloth, Yalmra turned to magic to pursue his desire for power.
His hard work and studious nature paid off: despite his ever-decaying body, he proved to have great prowess in offensive spells, weaving illusions, and alchemy, quickly gaining (and, subsequently, defeating) many enemies.
Keeping a trophy from every fallen foe of note, Yalmra quickly expanded his influence and the territory under his control across a large swath of his homeland, gaining a reputation for his clever mind and fearsome spells, even as his body continued to visibly degrade and the toxicity at his core began to manifest more and more, the green sludge at his center beginning to overgrow and crystallize on certain parts of his body, limiting him more and more as he aged.
Realizing that, even with him adding new armor and supports continuously, he was quickly becoming too physically vulnerable, Yalmra turned his knowledge of alchemy to a most daunting task: creating a golem.
Combining gemstones, different kinds of quartz, metal, gold, and some of his trophies and enemies' remains, Yalmra sought to create a golem that was as beautiful as gems and gold and as strong as his fallen foes. He hoped this being would be the ultimate bodyguard, and would defend him while he continued to use his magic to conquer city after city and repair his ever-ailing form...
Unfortunately, he did not realize that his enemies' spirits still lurked, angry and unable to rest in their unburied remains and possessions, and the golem arose as a mess of asymmetrical limbs, hatred, and wrath.
Inparu attacked their creator, killing Yalmra instantly, spilling his noxious essence onto the floor of his labratory...and despite their endless desire to expand, take in new parts from their victims and attain a body capable of placating the swarm of screaming spirits within, even Inparu knew not to assimilate any part of Yalmra's poisonous form.
Welp, there ya go. :V
