Hellooo! Week 3 is over and I've essentially just been exploring Oxford and going to loads of mental health events - tonight's was a music, poetry and comedy night and it was luuuurvely!! THIS week (week 4) is coursework week. I have to write an English Language and a Lit Theory essay and I'm PRAYING good questions come up - keep your fingers crossed for me!! Questions are released at midday tomorrow and I have until 12pm next Thursday to have it handed in by. I'm gonna aim to be all done (including referencing etc) by Wednesday - here's to having my shit together👌😂 Love to you all!!xxxx
Sometimes my anxiety makes things difficult - it’s the only thing that stops me from being a 'put together student', the only obstacle I have in life really, the only thing that holds me back. On Monday the coursework questions got released, following a meltdown from me and today spent trying to overcome the fear of failure that makes me put off even starting work.
I appear to be handling this better than usual though. Instead of just focusing on the aforementioned fear, I’ve been letting myself think through possible ideas/routes I could go down with my essays. Tonight I’m meeting up in a café for hot chocolate with one of the other 1st year English students at Balliol to run some ideas past each other and I am also wearing my dinosaur socks (that explains the odd picture for you😂). Tomorrow I think I’ll be ready to go! I’m giving myself until Friday to get my English Language essay done and then until Tuesday to do my Lit Theory essay. Wednesday will be spent proof reading, making any final edits and referencing, and Thursday at noon is the deadline so I’ll submit my portfolio on Thursday morning. Sounds good to me!

Start of Week 2 now - cannot BELIEVE how quickly this term is going!
I have an essay due on Tuesday and I’ve chosen to write on female sonneteers, specifically Rossetti and Browning. Looking at ideas of entrapment and freedom - it’s a p good topic to explore I think, and will especially be so when I look a bit more into the sonnet tradition.👌
Aside from that I have some reading for my class on Tuesday and will hopefully be going to a tortoise’s 114th birthday party at another college on Saturday.😂🙌
