just remembered that the grief of losing trip is what caused daisy’s first quake
The way Trip only died because he went in to get Daisy even though she was perfectly safe, unbeknownst to him.
The way he only died because he shattered the obelisk crystals, thinking it would stop Daisy's transformation, because he thought she was dying.
The way the last thing she did as she was engulfed was call out to him in fear and reach for him.
The way he died thinking he'd failed to save her, with tears in his eyes.
The way the first thing she saw right after her transformation was his remains.
The way her losing him triggered her very first quake.
[Trip] went out with a purpose, and if he had to do it all over again, I’m sure he would do it the exact same way. He’d probably kiss Skye first and then do it, but then he’d go out. — B.J. Britt

TripDaisy, rated T, 1644 words Summary: Daisy is in charge of planning her younger sister's bachelorette party, and a male entertainer has been booked for the evening. Daisy isn't expecting, however, to recognize the man who pops out of the cake. As she went through the process of helping her family plan her younger sister’s wedding, Daisy was discovering that there were lots of indulgences that could seemingly be excused on the line of “it’s for the bride.” Buying an expensive dress that she would likely never wear twice, taking a few days off work in order to spend a week in the mountains for the wedding, and even getting her hair and nails done professionally. And during the weekend of Kora’s bachelorette party, the excuse apparently also covered binge-drinking, a pole-dancing class, and hiring a professional “male entertainer.” Daisy had never been anyone’s maid of honor before, so though she’d been to a few bachelorette parties, she’d never had the experience of planning one. Her little sister was adamant, however, about what she wanted to do on her last weekend as a single woman, and it was Daisy’s job to make those dreams come true, no matter how much her pride protested. Sneak-Peek:
He nods towards the notebook. “Tickets to Scotland. Planning a surprise for Fitz?”
One of the many things that make Trip a great boyfriend is the casual acceptance- completely genuine- in his voice and his body when he talks about her husband. She fell for him because he is hilarious and handsome as hell, but they have worked long term because he is kind, generous, and open-minded.
“Yeah, but enough about that.” She is finally feeling a bit more awake, and she lifts herself on her forearms to look at him. “Spill the beans, Triplett.”
