Uluwatu Temple or Pura Uluwatu or also known as Pura Luhur. Uluwatu Temple is one of Bali’s nine key directional temples (Pura Kayangan Jagat). Though a small temple was claimed to have existed beforehand, based on inscriptions the structure was either instigated or significantly expanded by a Javanese sage, Empu Kuturan in the 11th Century. He was a Majapahit monk, who took also part in establishing several other temples on Bali.

This cliff-top temple is indeed impressive. The temple is built on the steep cliff and coming here can feel like sitting one the throne of Bali. During sunset hours the atmosphere gets really mystical.

Different with the sights of Tanah Lot Temple, for those of you who traveled to this temple will see the expanse of the Indian Ocean, with waves that hit the foot of the cliff. Besides that, you can also enjoy the beautiful sunset from this tourism spot in Bali.

The temple is inhabited by large number of monkeys, who are extremely adept at snatching visitors’ belonging, including bags, cameras and eyeglasses. Keep a very close grip on all your belongings and stow away your eyeglasses if at all possible. If you do have something taken, the monkeys can usually be induced to exchange it for some fruit. The monkey are believed to guard the temple from bad influences.

Besides of that attraction, you can also watch Balinese traditional dance, which is Uluwatu Kecak Dance. Kecak Dance is performed by 50-100 dancers. Kecak dancers would sit in a circle position and wearing a black and white sarong. Uluwatu Kecak Dance usually performed at 06.00pm until 07.00 pm. It takes 1 hour of performance while enjoying the sunset moment.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu or Uluwatu Temple is located exactly at Pecatu Village, South Kuta district, Badung regency, Bali. You can go there by private or public vehicles.

Visitors can pass through the various sizes of vehicles. Melasti Beach visitors are still dominated by local people as well as some local tourists.

However, many tourists are only know several main tourism object such as beaches and another natural attractions. Basically, Bali not only presents tourism object such the beach or the natural attractions, but Bali also present the culture and the customs of Bali which is very famous.

Penglipuran Village, is one of Bali traditional village which is very thick with their harmony and togetherness. Penglipuran Beach is located in Kubu village, Bangli district, Bangli regency. This village was awarded with the Kalpataru Award.

For your information, Kalpataru is an award that given to individuals or groups for his services in preserving the environment in Indonesia. Kalpataru itself is derived from Sanskrit language which means the tree of life (Kalpavriksha).

Aside of getting the Kalpataru Award, Penglipuran village is also assigned as an official tourism village by the government of Bangli regency in 1995. Since that time, Penglipuran Village increasingly visited by the tourists who want to know how the wisdom that occurred in this Penglipuran Village.

First time you enter the area of this village, you will be presented with cool and fresh atmosphere, it’s because this area is located at 700 meters above sea level. Therefore, the village is not contains any pollution that caused by motor vehicles in Penglipuran Village, it is another reason why Penglipuran Village has a cool and fresh atmosphere. The total area of Penglipuran Village is about 112 hectares, it is not too exhausting if you explore this village by walking while enjoying the beauty view of Penglipuran Village.

In the main street of the village, you will not find garbage that littered this place although many trees that grows around the road. Otherwise, the street of this village is very clean. Besides of that, every corner of this village there are so many garbage bins that has provided to accommodate the garbages. If you want to travel toPenglipuran Village, kindly you travel on the time that close to Galungan Day or after Galungan Day. Galungan is a feast of Hindu religion in Bali which is celebrated once in every 6 months. At that day, you will see the rows of Penjor which means Hindus facility that made of long bamboo trees along its tip that decorated and planted in the front yard of the house) that adorn every house in Penglipuran Village. There will be many girls dressed in Bali traditional outfit who bring offerings to the temple.

The physical arrangement of this village has been inherited by generations by their ancestors, the people in Penglipuran Village always believe the philosophy of Bali which called ‘falsafas Tri Hitakarana’. This philosophy teaches us to always harmonize the relationship between human and their fellow, human with the environment, and human with God.
