in your au, does blaze still have fire powers and amy her hammer or are they adapted into something a bit more realistic?
This is a really interesting question! I actually wasn’t 100% sure of the answer when I first read it, but I’ve thought about it more now so here’s what I’ve got. Bear with me. :)
In the world of Triple Threat, everyone, including Sonic, Silver, Shadow, Blaze, Amy, etc, are regular ordinary teenagers. They don’t have any special powers initially. The powers that SSS eventually gain (super speed, teleportation/energy blasts, telekinesis) stem from chaos energy. They are taught to harness these powers by Tikal, who acts alongside Chaos. (Speaking of which, chaos energy permeates the fabric of Sonic’s universe, and the chaos emeralds are definitely a thing, although they are more the stuff of legend at the start of the story). When someone ‘gains powers’, it is more that they are harnessing the universe’s chaos energy to create supernatural abilities. Theoretically, every person on the planet could be taught to harness chaos, and everyone would have their own particular fixed ability as a result (with some overlap of course— I’m not capable of thinking of 7 billion+ different cool powers for everyone). And, like sensitivity to chaos energy in regular canon, some people would be naturally much much better at it than others.
The same is with Blaze’s and Amy’s powers. As said before, these girls begin as ordinary high-schoolers, and for a long time they are ignorant of SSS’s activities as a superhero team. Eventually, however, they find out what’s been happening, get involved, and Chaos and Tikal decide to teach them to harness chaos energy too and unlock their own powers. This doesn’t happen for a while because with Chaos and Tikal weakening due to Eggman abusing chaos energy, they both have to conserve their strength. In addition, Tikal is very wary of who they teach to harness chaos energy; in the wrong hands, such knowledge could be extremely dangerous (see: Eggman).
So to answer your question: Yes, Blaze does eventually have her regular pyrokinesis abilities and Amy is able to summon her Piko hammer and use it with abnormal strength. They join the superhero team, fight the powers of evil beside their boys, and it is awesome. :)
