I might have talked to triss about CON verse today so unfortunately I'm obsessed again after I was informed about certain developments 😜 plus, assuming you kept it, there is a Sam treat that's very much my thing and I'm excited to see.
I got stuck and took a break from CON, writing that Blacklist/SPN fusion to clear my head a bit.
You know a little bit about the part @trisscar368 was referencing (I think), but I expanded it with other timestamp-type things that show Sam throughout his life, which probably has the thing you're looking for :D
Poor Triss. When I get stuck, I write 2-5 possibilities all in the same document, so like one conversation or scene might be repeated almost word-for-word up to 5 times in different parts -- 5 realities in one fic running alongside one another. Once I get unstuck and I realize what versions I like, I take out the repeats and things flow.
I forgot to tell Triss I'd done that and I started getting editing notes on the doc from her and I'm like oh no poor Triss 😧
I'd worked with Kim (old beta that worked with me for years and knew what a dork I was) so long that I didn't think to warn Triss.
At the top and bottom of a document will be copies of chats between me and beta along with chats from whichever friend is gushing at me about it, my incoherent ramblings, and partial notes that sometimes don't even make sense to me, and all throughout the fic are markers and notes that help me with time/date because I suck at that and feelings I want scenes to have and structure notes. Kim was used, recognized it right away, and would back out of the confusing mess.
But with my awesome communication skills, I didn't think to tell Triss, and she ended up reading through I think 1/2-3/4 of it the way it is and was probably like wtf?!
Or maybe she liked what it did to her head and all this time readers have missed out on my five-realities-in-one fics.
I should give her access to Bounded Rationality (a future part of CON) where I confused myself, split the fic up to figure it out but split it wrong, and tried to unsplit it and made a bigger mess 🤣
On BR I'm gonna have to go back to the doc version just before I split it to figure it out. That's how bad I fucked it up.
I gotta say that Triss is awesome and so far has caught things I totally missed, made me fill in things (what dog?), gave me new ideas (seriously BR was written after she gave me a poke on something that I couldn't not write), and has helped with the timing of the whole series since I keep going back and forth on which part should come next. Triss rocks!
