I am definitely overthinking this: part 2

Yk how Semo. like. Idk um. Yk how in the first part of HoD S1, he almost always wore only his shirt when he was at home/at the headquarters, but after all that bs happened and the next arc came, he rarely ever took his jacket off?

Do you guys think there’s like. Something there? Because I’ve always interpreted it as like, a symbol of vulnerability (or however that word is spelled).

He has the jacket off when he’s in his comfortable/safe spaces (headquarters, Hana-Duri’s house, his own house) and/or with his comfortable/safe people (Hana-Duri, Limo)

But he has the jacket on when others are around because he’s not as comfortable and safe with them than with Hana, Duri, and Limo.

Semo is extremely closed off, we know this. And honestly, as far as I remember, he’s the character who is always fully covered up and rarely even wore short sleeves (I only remember him ever wearing short sleeves in the movie).

So him being comfortable enough to only have on the shirt he usually has on under his jacket, might be like, his way of showing that he trusts the people he’s around.

A conversation that I am 90% sure would be had at one point:

Semo: {Referring to something nice the twins just did for him} I don’t get why you’d do that. That’s weird.

Duri: That’s a completely normal thing to do, dude. Is this your first time having friends?

(Awkward pause)

Duri: ...Right.

Can’t get them off my mind so umm here’s another post!

I think the trio’s relationship is so unique compared to Semo’s other relationship based on the fact that... these three hold eachother accountable, give eachother reality checks, and all that.

Semo is passive in most of his relationships. That’s mostly who he is.

He’s obedient with Limo, quiet and peaceful with Ogong, compliant with Dingyo, etc.

But with the twins, he doesn’t act soft. He was passive and scared of going against them when he first became friends with them (s04—yes I know I mention that season a lot), but he eventually did start calling them out on stupid/mean behavior that affected other people (but he was overall still very much a follower). He actively tells them off when they’re doing something wrong.

And the twins are different from Semo’s other friends/family too.

Dingyo is too confident and pushes Semo’s boundaries and makes comments that makes him uncomfortable. Ogong is passive and gentle with him. Limo... is Limo.

Meanwhile, the twins are fine with telling Semo harsh truths. They call him out on his mistakes and they’re confrontational when needed.

Semo rarely ever pushes back actively when someone wrongs him. I’ve always thought it had something to do with his fear of abandonment.

But he defends himself and fights the twins over stuff because he’s not scared to lose them. They’ll always find their way back to eachother somehow.

Y'know, I've been thinking a lot about what would've happened had Ogong decided to stop the virus even seconds later during the overpass scene in s04.

After all, he didn't know that was happening, that they were in actual danger, right?

I mean, obv the show would end since the Tritan trio would die (I don't think you can survive a car falling from that height).

But I wonder how Ogong would've reacted when he heard the news. How confused the people would be when the tobots stopped showing up to save them.

HoD Season 3 Episode 11

So when I first watched this scene months ago, I was confused why Semo was trying to hit that one ball thing in particular (and I’m still fairly confused what happened and why it made him completely lose his balance like that, but wtv) and why he and the twins didn’t just get out of the way.

But I rewatched this episode. And... Was he trying to guard/protect Duri?? Because I just noticed that

When Semo stepped over to where the ball was heading, he ended up in front of Duri, which means the ball was indeed going in Duri’s direction.

Duri was also kind of doing that arm-over-face thing, like... yk, the instinctive thing when you’re trying to block something from hitting your head

Ahhh I love protective Semo and I love DulSem... How did I not notice this beforeee?!!!

Is it just me or is this song like. Kinda tritan trio-coded. First half is fitting for the twins’ POV/interpretation of Semo, and the second half is Semo’s POV/interpretation of them.

I am definitely overthinking this, but-

HoD — S3-E3 (Korean/English)

(Yes, these aren’t the best screenshots. They suck actually. But um... just leave me alone the quality isn’t important)

Something I’ve just noticed in this scene is that when Duri puts his arms on/around Hana and Semo, they both look annoyed/sick of him (they almost always have that “ugh” expression on their face when he does some bs lol).

And Hana side-eyes Duri, but he does lean into the touch, even before Duri pulls him in.

Meanwhile, Semo is leaning away, and only really leans into it when Duri guides/pulls him in. And he’s looking away even when he’s being pulled closer. But he doesn’t actively pull away even though he seems to not really like the touch.

Past Semo would’ve avoided any gesture he didn’t like. For example, like in this scene:

Notice how Semo literally gets out of the way to dodge Dingyo’s embrace. (Ofc you notice lmao that’s literally the entire scene) (My Semogong-rotten brain always thinks this scene is Semo avoiding Dingyo and only wanting to congratulate his bf lmao, but that’s a whole nother thought-)

In my opinion... he seems to be more comfortable/okay with allowing touches he doesn’t exactly enjoy now? But mainly from the ones he’s really close with (Hana, Duri, Hansu...)

Idk. I don’t really have a meaningful interpretation of this. I thought it was interesting tho. Might just be unintentional and I might be kinda crazy lol
