What they said is not true. Neptune did not take Triton out of his orbit because he want to. He.. is saving him, yes. He save him from the dark monster that try to hurt him. But, Triton doesn't remember it.

He doesn't remember.

It's okay, Neptune reassure himself. As long as he is near me, he's going to be okay. I can keep him safe.

He's Not That Bad | Neptune/Triton

Triton is Neptune's unpaid babysitter. He doesn't like the fact he got forced to join him but it's either that or he gets killed by the giant gravity. Overtime he slowly accepts his fate, until the moon revolution that is.

He spent time with other moons that is not asking for Neptune all the time and he enjoys it. It's freedom in the simplest way possible. But he know that the other only see him as Neptune's Moon, not Triton.

He find it weird that Luna genuinely want to be with Earth all the time, he look nervous when they ask him to stay a little longer than usual. Triton doesn't press it, but he heard that the moon have a crush on his planet. Very interesting. He didn't know if the other will accept it, but he know it's not his business to police what rocks in empty space feel and do.

It does make him think about Neptune though. The big guy ignore him most of the time, but they have their fair share of moment alone together.

Like when that time Triton is tired about the little moons and leave them alone with Callisto and IO. He goes to the quietest place he know in the orbit and stay there until Neptune found him.

"Why do I have to take care your burden." Triton is feeling salty that day to bring the topic again. Neptune sit beside him, and facing the center of their solar system. The sun is burning bright even if he can't feel it that much.

"Well, you are good at taking care of them!" Neptune laugh. Triton scoffs, feeling mocked by his carefree attitude again. It's not the first time this happened, he doesn't know what to expect anymore. It doesn't matter, as long as he's not around to punch the guy in the face.

Triton gets up, he decides he just going to deal with the moons like he always do. But Neptune is putting his fingers around his wrist, not letting him go. He glare at the giant under his sunglasses when he open his mouth, but no words are out.

Neptune open and close his mouth a few times now that Triton frustration turn into confusion. He lower himself to sit again, waiting for Neptune to gather his words. He's usually blunt and said what he had in mind without much care.

"I like your company too," Neptune whispered softly if not for the fact they sit close with each other, making Triton freeze and turn to stare at him.

Neptune palm find it's way to his cheek. The cold finger pressed against his napped making him shudder."It gets lonely without you, you know." And before he know it, he is pulling Triton into his arm.

His face warmth up significantly thinking about it. Not like that incident special or anything. It's just the first one that he remember because how warm Neptune body is despite his cold fingers. His sweater is soft and clean, not dusty like his little moons.

It's so different from what Neptune usually do and that takes him off guard.
