Emma’s middle name is always Ruth, after her paternal grandmother who is one of the only reasons she can exist. Even better if it’s a canon fic, so she doesn’t know it was Snowing’s intention for that to be her middle name and she’s just like “Dafauq?”

2. What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise) 

Fics, really I read what catches my attention, so there isn’t much premeditation.

As for other, I haven’t been reading that much lately, between one thing and another. Yet to finish American Gods (Excellent read, btw.) but I think I’ll go with Dragon’s Teeth by Michael Crichton.

6.  Did you start nano with a blank page, an outline, or something already written?

I started with a project about 2/3 done.  I won’t ‘win’ nano this year because that story didn’t need 50K more on November 1, but I’m still charting words until I’m done because I like diagrams.

Sticking to movie canon and secondary canon (Comics, the game) for this one, let’s do this!

Spleen canon (Fuck you, canon) / Ray: 

I’m guessing him being Pan enters into this category, considering canon and secondary canon only list him as attracted to women and I tell canon, you fool, you absolute buffoon. 

Aside from that, he totally wears badass leather jackets to work (Ala Dan Aykroyd in some behind-the-scenes pics). He just doesn’t do it often, as Peter will pick on him relentlessly for it. Go snapping his fingers and humming ‘Jet song’ or ‘Summer nights’ behind him. That and one time fangirls took one of his favorite ones.

Heartcanon (It’s cute, bite me) / Janine and Dana (And the other girl friends): 

Janine’s presence is a must in Oscar’s birthday parties, both because she keeps other mom’s talking shit about Dana’s relationships at bay (They FEAR Janine’s wrath) and because Oscar adores her. She dotes on him like she would a nephew. She’s also one of Dana’s go-to calls when things get rough or something good happens and she’s excited and wants to share. It may be months in-between calls but to them it’s like time never passed.

She tries not to baby Kylie too much but it’s hard because ??? Look at her??? She’s an infant??? Must protect from the harshness of the world??? and while she does manage, she still can’t help but be over-protective of her in aspects that are subtle, like if Kylie’s wearing a skirt and someone gives a leering look, Janine’s gonna ‘Accidentally’ drop her piping hot coffee over their crotch area. She also kinda drops too many hints that she needs to sleep more and eat better because she never was to college and doesn’t really know how tight-knit it makes people but GOD KYLIE YOU NEED TO EAT MORE THAN A BAG OF CHIPS.

She’s Jenny’s wardrobe choices #1 fan and it’s the first in line to tell her how amazing she looks in each new outfit. Yes, that includes the animu waifu GB uniform thing she gets later.

Mel is like, the only one who really allows her to be as angry as she wants when she’s angry. Like, most either flee in terror or make no sudden movement sin hopes of not attracting attention, or even try to like, tell her to count to ten and take deep breaths. None of that with Mel, she’s like ‘Hey, you wanna go hit a garbage can with a baseball bat in the back alley?’ ‘Hell yeah!!!’. They’ve also cried on each others’ shoulder after maiming the poor trash can.

Gut canon (This feels right) / Peter and Egon: 

Egon pranks Peter waaaay more than Peter pranks Egon. Though sometimes it’s not as much a prank as ‘I let something happen/propitiated something to happen because it would be amusing to me’, cue the shit-eating smile from ‘Do-Ray-Egon’ scene when Peter glares at him after falling for it.

Also also, one time in college, Peter reached for fries out of Egon’s plate and got poked with a fork. Not hard enough to draw blood but enough to learn the lesson (Except this is Peter we’re talking about, what I really mean is he learned not to get caught)

Peter knows more about Egon’s family life than Egon ever told him (Psychologist and all) and Egon is constantly annoyed and weirded out by how much Peter seems to know. It has helped him on occasion, but he can’t help but get antsy about it.

Peter did Egon’s dad the middle finger upon their first meeting because he was annoyed that he kept talking to Egon like he was an idiot or something. Egon got hell for it but he was lowkey grateful that he stood up for him.

Junkcanon (DA SECKS)/ Janegon:

WOHO BOY let’s see…

Janine loves turning Egon into a squirmy, flushed mess just as much as she loves him losing his self-control and pushing her into the mattress like not being inside her’s gonna kill him. Maybe a bit more, but just because he’s so damn cute when he’s at her mercy underneath her and she’s fucking his brains out.

Egon loves kissing the patch of skin under her navel because it gets her going like no one’s business and there’s a pretty big ego boost for him when he sees something like a kiss in the right place get that big a reaction from her.

Hair pulling. So much of it. On both parts. And both parts enjoy it a bit too much.

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

Oh, many. 

I actually tend to like, post here on ideas that I have no intention of writing and am hoping someone else will pick up (It’s only ever worked once and it was GLORIOUS) but there are also the ideas that are just right up some of my writing mutual alleys, that I know they’d do a much better work than me at writing them. I am, regretfully, much too awkward to ever present them to them spontaneously ;A;

HOW ABOUT I ANSWER THE THREE OF THEM

1. Oh, tons of formal authors. Rodolfo Usigli, Germán Dehesa, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, VH Laverne... the list goes on. As for fanfiction authors, mah gurl Lauren, who was one of the first fic writers I had real communication with back in 2008-ish, is probably the biggest. I think she was the first fic writer I ever read that was more concerned about communicating than about seeming smart/original/poetic and it made me aspire to achieve that level of sincerity. 

2.You know, everything in moderation, BUT:-Couples sharing a bed-This thing I like to call ‘YOU HURT MY BULMA!!!’ where one side of the OTP that’s usually sort of detached and not big on public displays of affection loses their SHIT when the other is in danger/hurt.-Found families-Friendships that are like ‘We’re kind of assholes to each other but if you hurt my homie you’re DEAD’-Actually friendships in general, but mostly if they’re wholesome, meaningful ones.

3.THERE’S TONS BUT HERE ARE THE BIGGEST OFFENDERS.-That thing where people think falling in love cures trauma/depression/abuse. Like. No. I don’t care what a good kisser you are Chad, I need therapy-Gratuitously hurting characters. I mean... OK, I get it, sometimes YOU GOTTA DO THE ANGST, but when people act like there are no consequences, no growth, no meaning outside rolling around in it like a pig in poo-, it really gets on my nerves. Also, the variety where it’s like the go-to of the author to get a reaction from the rest of the cast and it serves no purpose but trying to seem deep through writing essay’s worth of people crying and angsting. It’s like... holy shit.*Steve Martin voice* Here’s a good idea. Have a point. It makes it so much more interesting for the reader-That ‘You’re not like the other girls’ bullshit. I will spit in your food if the only way to make the female character you’re centering on seem special is making the rest of them intentionally bland. It literally just means you had no better ideas of how to make them special.-Making alternative love interests jerks in order to make the one you’re centering on seem like the obvious choice. BORING.-Gratuitous character death.

W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom:

Oh boy. There's quite a few but Flanderizing the characters is probably my top one and it's, sadly pretty much all fandoms want to do, to fit a character into a little box with the name of one characteristic (Usually one that isn't even their most defining one) written on it and never try and explore anything else or even concede that this might not be as defining as they claim it is. Back when I was into AoT there was this one character who ONCE appeared eating a potato on screen and for years on end she was the potato girl despite having a good number of other characteristics to her. IDK, maybe it brings me memories of elementary school bullying but it really gets my goat.

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?: BRUUUUH STRAIGHT FOR THE NECK WITH THIS ONE HAHAHAHA. Um. There's quite a few where I was like, lowkey into it but seeing what the fandom was like made me go 'No thanks, I ain't touching that' but it's not exclusive of Tumblr, to be fair. The one instance I recall where it was tumblr specifically that made me irked at the fandom itself was the Frozen fandom, and I'd still interact with the ones I know I'm still comfortable around. In most cases, really, what happens is I become a lot more wary of who gets to see my stuff or I lose drive to make stuff for the thing despite still like it quite a lot.

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas):

I've had a 'Real Ghostbusters but in the TBOL world' AU in the works for ages now so maybe that?
