Jinsun’s hands shook as rummaged through his robes, hands slipping through pockets, grasping desperately at empty air and bunched fabric. His breathing was too fast and uneven, easy to see in the cold air around him. He cursed under his breath, throwing off his outer layer, the cold biting at his now exposed skin, but he didn’t care. He could feel a panic coming on, he felt it coming on through the end of Charms class. Knew it was coming soon, when he bolted fifteen minutes before the lesson ended, to the shock of the professor. Finally he found the pack of cigarettes he was looking for, his fingers fumbled as he pulled one out, lit it with a snap and put it between his lips, taking a long drag as he slid down the side of the castle wall, putting his forehead on his knees for only a moment before his head snapped up to see someone watching him. “What?” He croaked out, trying to seem more put together than he was.

Sungki lay in the grass, running his hands through the blades while he looked up at the stark blue sky. He had to repeatedly remind himself that his visions sometimes never came true. But this one... this one he had been having since mid summer. He felt it deep down, in him: death. Death hung over this tournament like a black cloud and with the first task coming up, it was hard for him to ignore it. He looked closed his eyes and sat up abruptly, running a hand through his hair. There it was again, pressing in on him, spiking suddenly, almost as if- he jumped as he heard someone approaching. “Ambrose?” He asked, eyebrows drawn together. “What are you doing out here?”

Sun’s head snapped up at the announcement. Captives in the forest. The Goblet had chosen the person on the grounds closest to him and the champions he stood with. His mind raced as he searched the large crowd. He hadn’t even thought about Min’s presence at the first task as all his concentration was put on calming his anxiety. But now that his eyes scanned the rows and rows of students, knowing that Min would not be there. “Shit” Sun cursed under his breath. His eyes were wide and he could feel his slow pulse racing. Most captives were hurt. Was Min one of them. He needed a cigarette or someone to knock him out, but with 9 entire schools in front of him and his father’s eyes carefully watching him he couldn’t do much. Despite knowing it would bring attention to him and would not make his father too happy, Sun crouched down, clasping his shaking hands together before carding them through his hair, running them down down his face, pressing them over his chest. Min was hurt. He knew it. He felt it. And Alexander was nowhere close to getting to him. Sun couldn’t help but feel responsible. Min wouldn’t be in there if it wasn’t for him, wouldn’t be in the line of danger and possible death if it wasn’t for him.

He stayed like that for two and a half hours. Shaking and huffing, trying to keep his multiple panic attacks as minute as he could possibly manage. When the champions and captives finally emerged from the Forest, Sun was swept back with the other’s, allowing the many stretchers carrying students to make their way to the middle. Sun caught sight of his boyfriend nearly immediately. His muscles tensed, body completely frozen.  Min looked horrible. His leg was mangled, half his body angry red and burned. One medi-witch had thrown around the word ‘poisoned’.  The crowd was noisy, muttering, some shouting at the state of the students before them. Sun unfroze all at once, tears finally tumbling from his eyes as a horrible scream ripped out of his throat. “MIN!” He clawed his way through people, not caring much if they were jostled, hit, or pushed. Finally shoving his way between two Medi-wizards, he was able to get to Min, touch him. His palm rested carefully, lightly, on the boy’s face. “Baby...” he murmured looking down at him. Though Sun was acutely aware of a Medi-witch telling him to get out of the way, he stood his ground, needing another few moments. He pressed his lips gently to Min’s forehead before putting his own forehead over the spot and reluctantly moving back. As much as it pained him to do leave the other’s side, he needed to let the healers do their jobs. “Baby, what did they do to you?” Sun whispered, mostly to himself, dragging his palm over his cheek to dry it, as he watched Min get carted away.

It was only moments before he felt someone’s gaze boring into the back of his head. Turning, his teary eyes met the enraged of his father’s, who beckoned him over. Sun swallowed before following his father across the grounds, knowing exactly what was coming to him.

When champions and captives begin coming out of the forest, all on stretchers, they are bombarded by medi-wizards and witches. Ambrose Moon, Annabel Weasley, Ahren Stark, Femi Nott, Muk Sungki and James Potter are immediately taken up to the castle, all unconscious and unchosen captives. Bae Jaegyun, Chang Min, Celia Hu, Scorpius Malfoy, Rosamel La Roux and Louis Weasley all are conscious, different necklaces looped around their necks and in various states of injury and pain. Hondo, Brynn and Alexander are also being worked on, all suffering rather severe injuries. 

Mr. Kwan, the tournament director and head of the International Department of Magical Games and Sports stands in front of the crowd, voice magically amplified. “The judges have deliberated. Hondo Kabweza has emerged victorious with 195 points. In second place is Alexander Petrov with 190 points. In last place, Brynn Graves with 160 points. As you know, the Goblet of Fire saw into your champions hearts, and found the person on these grounds who is most important to them, and then looked closer and found the second most important. They are as follows:” He takes a deep breath before moving on.

Chang Min - Completely broken through leg under left knee Inhalation of Toxic Poison , Second degree burns to left side of body ||  5 day infirmary stay, medically induced coma for 2 days to heal poisoning,  3 days to heal leg,  regular daily potions for one week  (out on 23rd of December, awake on the 19th of December)

Bae Jaegyun - Gash on left calf + heavy blood loss , Crushed left leg || 3 day infirmary stay, blood replenishing spell used  (out on 20th of December)

 Rosamel La Roux - Negative Reaction to the potion used to put champions under || over night infirmary stay, many healing spells used  (out on 18th of December)

Scorpius Malfoy  - Severe head injury, Head injury worsened by loss of concentration during charming || Coma (natural/non medically induced) for two weeks, many spells and potions used  (awake on 2nd of January, out on 5th of January)

Ambrose Moon - broken wrists, skin rubbed raw, acromantula poisoning due to being a main captive and not being chosen || overnight infirmary stay, potion and healing spells used  (out on 18th of December)

Femi Nott - no injury

James Potter - Hodag clawing across chest due to being a main captive and not being chosen || overnight infirmary stay, healing spells used   (out on 18th of December)

Ahren Stark - large scratches from left shoulder to right hip || Medically induced coma for two days, blood replenishing spell used, week long infirmary stay  (out on 24th of December, awake on 19th of December)

Every time one of the three Ministry Lackeys came out to announce updates, the entire crowd seemed on edge, excited. Personally, Icarus was only there because he was rather sure his Headmistress would have his head mounted on her wall if he didn’t show up to an event like this. The only thing he enjoyed about it was being out of uniform; not that he was switching up colors much. He turned in his all black robes for a tight black t-shirt and jeans. He ran a hand through his hair, resting a foot on the bench in front of him. “It’s been two hours. How long do you think it’ll be until they get out of there or die?.”

Jaegyun had skipped lunch. Instead he had opted to lounge in the common area of the Mahoutokoro dorms with a few other students who seemed to be rushing homework or whispering about theories. He, however, was waiting for someone. When Daehyun entered the room he stood up almost too quickly, making his way over to the other hastily. “Have they told you anything else about the task? Do you know what your doing in there?” He asked, worrying at his lip.

Rosamel was never one to shy away public attention, and generally could care less if many pairs of curious (and slightly annoyed) eyes were directed his way as he called out for his friend... across four tables of the Great Hall. He had been sitting with the Ilvermorny kids, as he did often, homesick for the place before he had spotted Ambrose’s overly tall frame slink into the Hall. Rosamel had darted up from his seat, weaving through the crowds to get to him. “So? Nervous? Think you’ll die in the big bad forest?” He was practically bouncing on his feet, a grin stretched over his face, as if the prospect of his best friend being attacked gave great him joy.
