I think Bob Reynolds would burn down a kitchen, man was probably too busy fighting for his life on a Florida street to learn how to use an oven.

I also like to think that everyone makes an effort to keep Bob out the kitchen, like yeah everyone is mentally ill and probably has bigger issues to fry but keeping this grown man out is more important

Potentially Controversial BG3 Opinions

Spawn Astarion’s Act 3 romance scene should not have been a sex scene. It would’ve been more interesting to have him learn sex can be on his terms and if that means he doesn’t want to be touched, his partner is content to just enjoy his company. I know the game lets the player decide if they want to have sex, but it would’ve been so much more meaningful to let Astarion make that final call. I know some SA survivors say having him be ready to reclaim sex is healing, and while your feelings are valid, they aren’t universal. There is also power in feeling safe enough to say no.

Ascended Astarion fans who convinced Larian to change his kiss are weak. No one cares if you like a little dark fantasy, but at least commit to the dark part of it.

Wyll’s Act 3 companion quest felt more about the Emperor than Wyll. That plus the help you can get on the lanceboard puzzle from Gale makes it feel like a quest that Larian wrote up, realized Wyll still needed something to do in Act 3, and slapped his name on it.

Halsin didn’t need to be a companion. He’s fine joining camp and even having a little romance scene, but we didn’t need him in our party. By the time Act 3 rolls around, he has nothing new to contribute. By then, we’ve already gathered Jahiera who is yet another Druid and, arguably, a better one.

In contrast, Minthara, however, is a necessary companion. On a full evil run, you lose so many companions, she’s needed to help balance the party. While I adore her, I don’t think she should be so easy or even an option to recruit on a good run. Evil runs could use an extra companion or two, good runs already have enough.

I think Gortash’s added lines about liking DUrge add some nice flavor text about the Chosen of Dead Three’s relationships. I don’t care about an actual Durgetash romance, but the idea of your DUrge being an active and entangled past member of the group you are currently trying to overthrow adds some fun horror for a current DUrge is very much Not Into That.

Yenna did not need to be included. While I think Orin should take your love interest, I understand why Larian didn’t want to go down that path. That being said, Orin needs to take an actual companion for there to be any motivation to go after her. No one cares enough about a random girl and her cat for it to raise the quest’s stakes in a meaningful way.

I wish your companions could get into other relationships if you choose not to date them. The fact that Karlach has gone so long without a little kiss and then can just (potentially) die on the dock without one, all because you didn’t romance her, is a little heartbreaking.

Gale should NOT be sporting a six pack. I don’t buy that that wizard was doing crunches in his tower
