“Honestly, I’ve had this feeling for a while. You’re keeping a lot to yourself. You look mature and composed, which is probably because you seem to know everything.”
So we were right to assume that Cheng Xiaoshi might’ve already suspected/had a feeling for a while now that Lu Guang was hiding something from him, and the reasoning behind his maturity is because of that secret he has been hiding.
People forget how observant Cheng Xiaoshi is when it comes to his loved ones, and he probably will come to the conclusion that nudging Lu Guang to open up about it and talk to him would be the only solution to helping him. He respects LG and probably wouldn’t want to push him but knows that’ll be the only way.
Lu Guang breaking down crying in front of Qiao Ling and saying he can’t face a future or live in a timeline without them in it, I used to pray for times like this 🥹 I’m so ready for this (seeing him cry genuinely breaks my heart)
So Li Haolin just did a q&a at anime expo and mentioned that Lu Guang’s character will have the most change in opinion/mixed reception after season three I’m SO intrigued.
The “mixed reception” bit makes me so excited, like yes high stakes and risks and seeing how far Lu Guang would go for his loved ones no matter the costs YES 🥹 like yes make us viewers have different opinions on his character and morals🥹give me more morally grey Lu Guang🥹
Anyway, he also said that Lu Guang will face the biggest change once he’s finally able to have an outlet for his stress, and that he will become more open afterwards.
He was also asked whether shiguang would have a major conflict in season three and mentioned that he doesn’t have the heart to do that to them, but said that, “no matter what, their fate will really make you feel a bit heartbroken”. HUH WHAT DOES THAT MEAN WHAT DO YOU MEAN LI HAOLIN WHA (considering that he likes bittersweet endings I’m so scared)
The way that Lu Guang said he couldn’t face a future with *both*, BOTH!!! of them gone. I just know that the “Lu Guang doesn’t care about Qiao Ling and only cares about Cheng Xiaoshi!!” believers are sobbing in defeat right now. Qiao Ling is like a big sister to him!! Of course he cares about her, he loves them both!!!! They’re literally all he has left, and the reason why he just can’t let go and move on, they’re his family. Stop acting like Lu Guang doesn’t gaf about Qiao Ling when he clearly does care for her as much as he cares about CXS!! Otherwise why would he be emotionally vulnerable in front of her in this scene, crouched down in front of her, literally crying and having a panic attack/spiralling, and making himself as small as possible in a way to ground himself?
In the Bridon arc opening The Eye, the whole intro showcases Lu Guang's cherished memories from his point of view, and not only is Cheng Xiaoshi present in those cherished moments, but Qiao Ling as well.
She’s clearly been a very important person in his life, for so many years/timelines now, alongside Cheng Xiaoshi.
I am in love with him, your honor
