yeah you're right i really didnt mean to make an argument for totalitarian regimes i just made that post when i was thinking of younger ppl i know who blindly praise its genius whilst ignoring certain aspects of the books (and sometimes plainly misunderstanding its point even ) (one that springs to mind is a guy who'd literally praise the soviet union and also talk about how much he loved orwell???)

i know exactly what you mean like some guys are bent on decontextualizing basically any form of media to fit their stupid world views...
