Day 6; Plague; Goblins are a big problem for the ecosystem and the community of trolls and species, the beast goblins are equally and more dangerous except that the goblins and beast goblins have a natural predator, the khezu.

its been a long time since i was here, but i return amidst a pandemic because troll masks must exist XD. and hopfully i get back to drawing, no promises though.
hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. even creatures of stone need to look after each other.
I can't stop thinking about Goblins and the fact that they probably adopt everything in their vicinity
Goblins! I love these little guys, they just squish all the time. Ah this was the only other Trollhunters fanart I managed to do before I got smothered in college work… I’ll do more of these some day !
Amulet of daylight pages the binding charm pages
*rubs my filthy goblin hands together* let's explore GOBLIN CULTURE
So based off show canon (I've finished Trollhunters, haven't gotten very far into 3Below, am excitedly waiting for Wizards) we get very little information on goblins which is understandable bcz like, they're a nuisance, and primarily just canon fodder enemies that occasionally have more important roles
So what we know about goblins!
Green: Most common, normal goblins, everywhere
Blue: Mentioned to be as common as green goblins but we don't actually SEE them, probably because animation effort of having to change colors. Makes sense.
Blood/White: bloodthirsty fucks, white colored, Scary and smarter (?) than the average goblin??
So like... clearly color has something to do with goblin subspecies, we don't really see goblins interacting with other colored goblins. Maybe again it's an animation cost thing but mayyyybe goblins don't like other color goblins? Maybe they don't get along?
Goblins are kinda shown to have something of a pack or hive mindset, so it's possible it's because different colors/subspecies of goblins literally can't fit into the pack/hive dynamic of the other colors. Personally I'm a fan of the idea of goblins using scents and scent markers to direct their hivemind-like packs, which contributes to their stink and also ties into the whole "smells fear" bit
Maybe goblins don't interact with other colors of goblin because they have JUST enough physiological differences that they SMELL different. It makes it hard for them to work together in larger numbers like goblins prefer. Maybe they can work together in smaller numbers if they need to! But goblins aren't shown as very smart either, so they probably never do unless a smarter goblin comes along to direct them
Anyways I like to think that the reason green and blue goblins work better together is because green goblins are kinda the basic, general foot soldiers of the goblin species. They're EVERYWHERE, they breed fastest, they MOVE fastest, they're better at acclimating to other types of goblins.
Blue goblins are a bit slower, maybe a bit dumber, but they're excellent trackers. Their sense of smell is way better than green ones and when combined with a green pack they keep the greens from hurtling off a cliff just bcz they keep the swarm a bit slower. They're very lazy goblins and tend to be more persistence hunters than green goblins, which just GO for their prey.
Blood goblins are far smarter than any other goblin and are pretty much the special ops of goblins - they can THINK. They don't need a troll to tell them what to do. Their sense of smell is almost as good as a blue's, but their sheer tenacity and ability to track prey to its death is what makes them scarier. White goblins will occasionally adopt a blue goblin into their pack for their superior sense of smell but it's not very common because whites DESPISE the lazy fuckers.
