The barkbeast was notoriously known for being a pretty terrible hunter. It would go into the deep forest and wander around for hours, and often came back with nothing. So Holari decided to hunt while he was out. That's what they were doing right now. Somewhere else.
The huge barkbeast had smelled something weird on these parts a while ago. The smell was still fresh, and he went on to track it. It didn't smell like anything he had eaten before, so this must have been from a different animal than he's used to, something new. That made him excited! He wagged his tail happily. He tracked down the owner of the smell easily and and was surprised that he had found a troll at the end of the line. He knew the one that raised him wasn't a fan of these at all, but this one was so small it couldn't do much harm. Maybe it could do well as a quick snack.
The barkbeast stares at the troll from behind a tree, doing a bad job at hiding, burdened by the hardest choice of his entire life. Should he eat it? Should he howl and call their raiser to end it? Should he just leave it alone?

HE NEVER. STOPS. TALKING! He actually outtalks Karell, and Karell talks too much as it is! I love my idiot immortal son, but dude is such a chatterbox he could drive people to madness.

He will buy a gigantic jar of pickles and eat the whole damn thing in one night. He will also drink the brine afterward. He doesn't feel any guilt about it, but he knows other people would find it revolting, so he keeps it to himself.
