Zack is a very affectionate person. Everyone knows it cause it’d be pretty hard not to considering how willingly and how often he drapes himself on anyone near and pulls them close whenever he feels like it.
The fact has both worked out greatly and worked against him horribly for the last two weeks. Because in that time he had subtly been trying to hint at maybe wanting something more from a certain blond trooper and it has been completely flying over his head.
Zack has tried everything from sitting Cloud in his lap and hiding his face away in the crook of his neck all the way up to literally kissing him on the cheek whenever they part ways. But the blond stays stubbornly oblivious and doesn’t catch on to any sort of change.
Zack: Ok so how do you like your coffee?
Trooper!Cloud: as dark as my soul
Zack: Sure thing! Seph can you pass the milk?

In the most recent chapter, Prompto showed up with his trooper uniform and mentioned that he would be better at sending letters back to their mom. Which made me think that Prompto for sure take selfies to send back home, and Cloud would HATE every second of it. I’m amused that I have a head cannon of someone else’s head cannon. I’m still learning how to colour with a computer, I’ll figure it out one day!
What happens in Nibelheim changes the whole damn world.
Next three from the Victims of Science set! I really enjoyed seeing all the differences in design between the original game and the Compilation + Remake. OG Zack doesn't have a scar on his face, baby Cloud's uniform is different, Sephiroth's hair is actually a desaturated lavender???
I think they came out really well and I'm super happy to share them! Just a couple more to go!

An AU where trooper Cloud found a homeless Denzel and took him in. Zack doesn’t know about the kid, nobody does quite frankly, and Cloud passes off his need to live outside of the company as a mental thing.
Zack only finds out about any of it cause he comes across Denzel, out after dark and utterly lost, on one of his patrols. He takes the kid home, knocking on the door and halfway through a lecture before the door’s opening abruptly.
Cloud’s standing there, phone held up to his ear with a jacket half on, ridiculous hair pinned back with some hair clips and an absolutely frantic look in his eyes. He barely spares Zack a glance before his gaze is locking onto a guilty Denzel, relief becoming palpably obvious as he hangs up the phone and swoops in to pull the kid into a hug.
Denzel stiffens for a moment before he’s sagging, shoulders hitching as he quietly begins to cry and grips onto Cloud like the blond could disappear at any moment.
Cloud is much the same, arms tight around the kid as he whispers quiet reassurances, taking a deep breath every now and then like he’s trying to hold back his own tears.
Zack feels like he’s intruding, gaze averting as he scratches at the back of his neck. He considers just leaving the two but he accidentally catches Cloud gaze, the younger giving him a grateful look as he stands, picking Denzel up near effortlessly.
One of those classic Cloud’s one way around Zack and another around everyone else and Zack’s hearing people talk shit about Cloud and is like what the fuck??
Cloud is literally the most adorable, kindest person he knows???? And everyone’s looking at him like he’s crazy cause what do you mean? He’s literally an asshole that thinks he’s better than everyone and is always cold to them??
He’s not he’s just shy af and doesn’t know how to talk to people but hides it behind an aloof, cold front, which gets him into trouble. People think he’s got this outlook that he’s better but it’s literally the exact opposite and he just hides it cause he despises looking weak in front of other people.
“Why do I need to do rope climbing again?”
“Cause Cloudy! What if you end up in Gongaga on a mission? There’s ropes everywhere around there to get up and down the cliffs and sometimes, we don’t have a chocobo to get around.”
“Isn’t that why we get dropped off in exact locations though?”
“And what if you need to run huh? What’re you gonna do then?”
“… fine.”
“Awesome! Here, I’ll give you a boost cause sometimes the ropes are a little far off the ground and this’ll be good practice.”
“What? You don’t need to- Hey! Watch your hands!”
“Oops! Sorry, they slipped.”
“Zack… you’re hands haven’t moved”
“Well I don’t wanna drop you so it only makes sense to-”
“Zack! Stop squeezing!”
