78 - Poverty/Money/Financial Issues & #81 - Mistaken Identity

ok, so this one would be set somewhere around S5. Mickey and Ian are struggling to find money to keep the heat on in the house. Ian insists that he has a plan, but won't explain what it is.

Mickey goes in search of him one night, worried, even if he won't admit it, about what crazy thing Ian might be up to.

He had been wandering around for a couple of hours, not sure where Ian even was, but feeling like he needed to at least try.

Finally catching a glimpse of red hair and a familiar build halfway down the street, he headed in that direction, but noticed that Ian seemed to be acting… oddly. He had his head down, glancing around nervously, didn't seem at home on these streets.

Slowing, he decided to follow, trying to figure out what Ian could be up to. Some kind of scam, maybe?

As they got closer and closer to their neighbourhood, Ian's behaviour got even odder. He was glancing around him non-stop, and kept looking at what seemed to be a piece of paper in his hand.

Mickey ducked into an alley when Ian started to turn his head in his direction, and bumped into someone standing just inside.

"Shit, sorry," he muttered, turning to head back out.

"Mick?"

"Ian? What the fuck? How the hell did you get in here… you were just right out there!"

"What are you talking about? I'm just heading home. I definitely wasn't out there!" Ian was confused.

"Then who the hell was I following?"

The sound of their voices had attracted some attention. The same shock of red hair that Mickey had been following appeared at the end of the alley.

"Ian?" said a voice, far too similar to Ian's for comfort. "Oh, thank god. This neighbourhood is terrible."

"Holy shit," Ian muttered. "Mick… this is my half-brother, Jacob."

POV of another guest at the motel, the night of their wedding.

They see a couple in wedding tuxes stumbling their way towards the door of the honeymoon suite. The one in black has a cast on one leg, and they are struggling to carry their luggage while also trying to keep their arms around each other.

"Was it everything you wanted?" the redheaded one asked as they walked by.

"Even with the mess with the venue, yeah, it was perfect," the dark haired one replied.

"Just one tradition left, I guess," the redhead said with a smirk.

"What, consummating the marriage? Think we already did that."

"No, it's tradition for the bride to be carried over the threshold on their wedding night," was the laughed response.

"We decided no bride shit, remember? And I know exactly who you think is getting carried here, and you ain't carrying me anywhere with your leg, man."

"Come on Mick, it'll make the night perfect." Broken leg nudged at the shorter man under his arm.

"You really want this shit?"

"Yeah, I do."

"Alright, but I'm not letting you hurt yourself. Put the bags down tough guy, and let me carry you."

Prompt mashup - #2 (Prison (AU)) & #138 (Mickey Actually Does Like Having His Ass Licked/Rimming) ok, so we know they were out of lube, right? And Mickey is sick of the smell of mayonnaise. So what else are they supposed to do, right? BJ's and handjobs are good, but... sometimes a guy just needs something in his ass, you know?

The first time Ian brought it up, Mickey refused flat out. The idea was a bit gross, you know? But every night, there were whispered promises of pleasure, and guarantees that it would be worth it.

Finally, getting a bit desperate, he agreed, just to shut his redhead up.

That first lick, the first sloppy touches... oh shit. Oh fuck, that feels... good.

39. Survival/wilderness fic + 60. Poorly timed confession for meeee!! You know which ships i like so you can pick whichever 💕

Of all of the C2 Challenges Ferrari has forced them to do, this one has to be the worst, Charles thinks. He doesn’t usually mind camping, but sharing a tent with Carlos sounds like the least appealing way to spend a weekend after they’ve been at each others’ throats for the majority of the season.

The scavenger hunt the team sent them on was no exception. It’s probably for the best that they didn’t send anyone with them to film the actual hunt. Each time Charles thinks that he has found one of the items, Carlos argues with him — the leaf from an oak tree was actually a maple leaf, the moss was just grass, and he even argued with him that the acorn Charles picked up was probably a walnut.

By the time they start searching for a pine cone, Charles is ready to give up. He thinks he can have the team come up with an alternative challenge for them. Maybe they can figure out how to start a fire without matches or something. He thinks he could leave Carlos to figure that out on his own.

“I am going back to the campsite. I am not doing this anymore,” Charles says with a huff.

“Come on, why are you being like this?” Carlos asks.

“Why am I being like this?” Charles bites back at him. “You have doubted me every step of the way today.”

Carlos takes a step back, and Charles feels bad for all of half a second.

“I’m sorry,” Carlos says, and he sounds like he actually means it. “It’s just that…”

“It’s just what, Carlos?” Charles asks exasperatedly. "Can’t we just get this over with so we can relax for the night?”

“I’m not ready for this to be over.”

Charles scoffs. “I never took you for the wilderness type.”

“That’s not what I meant,” Carlos says, sincere.

“You are upset about leaving,” Charles responds.

Carlos nods. “A little. I feel like things are…unfinished.”

Charles can sense where this is going. “You don’t get to do this now,” he whispers, the fight suddenly leaving his body.

He had considered all of the possible outcomes of a conversation like this for years, since the moment he found out that Carlos would be his teammate. There had been multiple close calls — touches that lingered for a moment too long, eye contact that was a little too deep to be shared between teammates. But Charles had written off the possibility of anything more happening when it was announced that Carlos would be leaving.

“Then when?” Carlos asks.

Never, Charles thinks. It would be preferable to wherever this would go tonight. Especially considering the fact that they would have to share a tent either way.

“I’m going back to the campsite,” is all he says aloud.

“Charles, please wait,” Carlos pleads from behind him, but Charles doesn’t turn around.

“We have to talk about this,” he calls again, and Charles knows he won’t let up until Charles hears him out.

“Fine,” Charles spins around. “Let’s get this over with.”

Behind the Scenes ✨

I was going through my files and I have a bunch of rough sketches and notes for my comics and I thought it might be fun to post them? I always love seeing people’s processes and early drafts! By sharing these I guess I run the risk of thinking “oh maybe that other version was better…” but I still find this stuff really interesting!

Usually I start by brainstorming in a notes app (sometimes there’s a ton of terrible iterations, writing is so hard, how do writers do it?!) and then I do rough drawings for layout/expressions (sometimes with additional notes to myself.) I’ll often adjust the dialogue at this stage for clarity or to make it funnier (to me) and then I ink and color the final version (you can see the final version of these sketches here!)
