On today’s episode of trying to add more Night Lords whimsy into my life, I present to you:

An ear!

I am learning how to work with latex, which means I am currently at the stage of the hobby where every project alternates between “this is going surprisingly well” and “I have accidentally created evidence >:D”

The tear you can see happened because latex got trapped in one of the deeper airless grooves of the mold and never properly cured. Then I got impatient, removed it anyway, and the ear immediately expressed its opinion on my impatience. Nothing a little blood can’t fix, right?

The mold is silicone, so in retrospect it makes perfect sense that thick pockets of latex would struggle to dry without airflow. I’ve been building it up in layers and letting each layer dry between coats, but apparently the correct amount of patience required is greater than the amount I currently possess. But the second ear is already underway! And once I get the process working reliably, the next step is making sheets of skin.

Normal crafting progression. Don’t worry about it.

The original plan was to “bedazzle” my 40k carrying case with flayed skin decorations, but after some consideration I think I should probably start with something slightly less ambitious (ya girl hasn’t figured out how to reliably bond latex to other materials yet without sewing/stapling).

Current contender: ✨a fashion statement shoulder wrap✨

I already have leather lying around somewhere that I could use for straps, which means I am now only a few poor decisions away from becoming overcommitted to the bit! If all goes according to plan, I will soon possess wearable human skin accessories!

🦇 Irregularly Scheduled Physical Arts Update 🦇

I’ve made more resin teeth and, more importantly, discovered that I can turn them into jewelry >:D

The first victim is a latex ear that I glued a magnet to, which now has a decorative tooth dangling from it. I’m debating putting it up on the fridge just to see what my housemates say.

The second victim will be my carrying case, because I have an entire batch of teeth ready to become a decorative chain. Nothing says “whimsical CSM army” quite like accessorizing with ✨trophies✨.

As for my ongoing latex adventures… I decided to add resin pigment to liquid latex.

I don’t know what happened.

The latex doesn’t know what happened. The pigment doesn’t know what happened. But together they produced a weird reaction that left me with these meaty chunks! As you can imagine, I consider this a successful experiment.

The only thing I ask is: please don’t message me to solicit commissions. And no, I don’t mean emergency commissions. I am always happy to support artists who genuinely need help. I mean the increasingly common “hello dear, I love your profile, may I interest you in my services” bot behavior that keeps finding me across the internet like a plague. Now, about me:

I spent roughly fourteen years in another fandom. I’m still there, technically, but burnout eventually caught up with me. When I stumbled into Warhammer, I fully expected it to be a temporary hyperfixation.

Well. It’s been three years. And I’m starting my second army. I fear there may be no cure.

Honestly, Warhammer ended up healing a lot of that fandom burnout. The community has been surprisingly welcoming, the people I’ve met have been lovely, and somewhere along the way I realized I was having fun again. So I’m going to be making Warhammer content for the foreseeable future.

And if you happen to recognize me from another corner of the internet: hi 🖤✨ you’re absolutely welcome here. I deliberately kept my names similar enough that old friends could identify me if they found this blog. Don’t be a stranger, folks.

As for the actual content of this blog:

At some point I realized that my tabletop hobby needed more whimsy… unfortunately, my definition of “whimsy” appears to involve the Night Lords. Yes, I know jumping from one Chaos Space Marine faction to another is barely a jump at all.

Counterpoint:

Fuck the Corpse Emperor.

Also, the Night Lords have significantly more meme potential.

This blog is dedicated entirely to Night Lords nonsense, including physical crafts, digital art, miniature painting, sculpting projects, prop making, and whatever fresh heresy I become obsessed with next week.

✨Skin experiments are going well enough^^ + teeth + severed hand shenanigans✨

I kept trying to figure out why the face looks all wrong and then i realized that it’s the lack of eyelids that makes it look like that. Also most things here are very thin because I’m trying to limit how much latex I waste on figuring things out^^

Also I’m making teeth now! I bought a bunch of fake teeth (super cheap actually? You can get 4 sets of acrylic teeth for $7ish on amazon/etsy)

Unfortunately the black sticker they use to hold them together leaves marks on teeth and it’s a pain to get off so I’ve resorted to soaking it off. As you can imagine, my workshop is looking very wholesome^^ very family friendly✨🖤✨

I’m also trying to make my own teeth with resin and silicone molds but so far it’s not working as well as I would like it to. The mold I got splits teeth in halves and I’m struggling with seamlessly attaching the halves together (but it’s a skill issue, not a mold issue) - so far it’s looking pretty promising!

Speaking of being a public hazard, I bought this tattoo practice hand for NL shenanigan purposes^^ and I even got to use the “do you need a hand?” line on a housemate when they were carrying in boxes lmao

12/10 experience >:D they were very annoyed at me

And I can use this hand to mold and sculpt severed fingers for future bullshit!
