Number 77 for Eternity (secondary option of 49)
They’d gotten lucky with finding this hiding place. Occtis heard the heavy panting breaths slowly coming down as they recollected here in the cavernous area they discovered in their sprint away, yet his own chest remained still, unmoving. Occtis imagined the Underworld to be different from what it turned out to be. There were so many souls trapped here, and so many– so many– of them obeyed Tachonis command. It was neither peaceful nor quiet, and it seemed that even in death, there was little rest.
Occtis took a glance outside the small cave entrance, scanning the horizon for any sign of the rest of his group. In the desperate run away, they had gotten separated. He remembered they had agreed upon a meeting point, but first priority was making sure they hadn’t been followed. The coast looked clear, but that meant no sign of the others, and Occtis felt that familiar pull of worry, yet he tried as best as he could to shove it down. The necromancer turned away from the entrance and asked, “are– are you okay?” A pause. "I... think we'll be good to recollect here before moving on."
Thjazi looked the same as Occtis remembered during the funeral at Hal’s that felt so long ago now. He didn’t know how he looked to the orc, what features of when he was a child, pushed aside and alone, reflected in his face now. He didn’t know if Thjazi would catch the signs of how much Occtis had changed.
Down here, in the Underworld, Occtis was terrified. It was his family’s domain, and while he was no longer of the living, Occtis knew he was not welcomed here, but things need to be dealt with. His family needed to be stopped. And coming across Thjazi Fang might just be the first good sign they had gotten since arriving.
"It's good to see you."
