FISH ON! My boy caught this 18 inch rainbow trout on a father-son fishing excursion to Baum Lake in Shasta County, California, USA. It put up a pretty good tussle right on the surface in warm late morning light so I had to grab a shot.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2023 I’m honored to have this image selected as one of 25 finalists out of over 300 submissions in the 2023 California Trout Photo Contest.

今年もヒメマス釣行に行きました。

今回は4.6ftの渓流タックルをスピニングとベイトで1本ずつ用意。 止水域でのベイトフィネスは初めてだったので、ロッドアクションの良い練習になりました。

例年よりもかなり遅いタイミングでしたが、心配に及ばず。 刻露清秀、寒空の下で時間も忘れてロッドを振り続けました。
