The Snake River holds a number of fish species including Mountain Whitefish, different species of sucker fish, Brown trout, and of course, the Fine-Spotted Cutthroat Trout. On our recent trip to Wyoming we fished the section of the Snake that runs through Grand Teton National Park. This section includes wide open stretches of clear water, large eddies, and Cutties feeding on dry flies.

After fishing for a short period of time it became apparent that the most important thing about fishing this river was going to be the hookset. As you watched the fish slowly rise from the depths of the clear pool and lazily sip on your dry fly imitation, it was incredibly difficult to wait for the right moment to set that hook. We lost plenty of fish, but managed to get this 18 incher in the net.

Tomorrow my brother and I fly out to one of the most epic locations in the country with the sole purpose of capturing spectacular content.
