acorn and bacon are heavily codependent on each other, even if they're unaware of it themselves
by nature, they're both very independent people
acorn hates troubling others. she's not very trusting of strangers, and whatever she can do alone, she insists on doing alone. while bacon, with his strong drive to do as he pleases, disregards how his actions affect others and what people think of him
but when society neglects and maltreats two orphans, those orphans will grow up thinking that the world beyond each other is unsafe.
bacon gets his reckless speed from his time pickpocketing strangers, and acorn's learned how to defend herself from moderators asking questions and not getting answers
they've grown so used to working with each other that their skillsets have adapted to cover what the other needs; bacon rushes in, acorn comes in to defend. they work in a tandem, and they work with no one else
second only to bloxxer, the siblings were one of the hardest to recruit. it's genuinely a miracle builderman got his badge back — not like it serves any purpose now
it was only when the other was gravely injured, a wound which only jane's expertise could nurse, did the siblings realize that there were some gaps the two of them couldn't patch alone. and so, in a decision mostly influenced by acorn's reluctance to repay debts, they decided to extend their aid to builderman's group
... to which they ended up becoming permanent members of.
surprisingly, acorn adapted quicker than her brother could, especially after bloxxer's actions served as a mirror to her own.
but bacon — sweet, obstinate, stubborn bacon...
it'll take a bit more than a year for him to get comfortable.
