why does this fandom boil mizuki down to just her gender.
i get so disgusted and deeply ashamed of the prsk fandom as soon as i for example, see a post including mizuki using she/they pronouns .. i check replies and every now and then, which is expected, there is some russian comments calling mizuki a he. not that i care, they can be transphobic all they damn want, but its the fact as soon as you get past russian comments: english comments who just fight over gender or say stuff like “Mizuki My GIRL.”
i get that you may like trans rep, but after mizu5, its really being shown how unfair this fandom is to representation which isn’t often out there (at least i havent seem a lot of it). mizu5 was supposed to show how it feels to be outed as a trans person to someone you finally decided to trust with a big secret you have, if not biggest. mizukis untrained is there to show how petrified she is of how ena wouldve reacted, and in her eyes all she could see was disgust, while enas untrained- you could see how she was confused, and shocked. she simply didnt expect that, but all over one absolutely petrified look of a card, this fandom dumb that singular card down to a meme. the fandom treats mizu5 like an absolute joke, and im sick of it, as a transgender person myself. yes, mizu5 was an event which held lot of meaning, all of them do, one way or another.
but the amount of jokes that came out of mizu5 really disgusts me.
“ominous bells,” yeah, the joke was originally from heat abnormal, “the bells of parting toll”, but why do we have to use it as a joke? theres so much behind mizuki’s character we still dont know, and “the bells of parting toll” being said by her even if coincidental literally shows how she so believes as soon as she tells ena her secret, ena will be disgusted and leave her the moment after. even if she doesnt say it (i believe), mizuki said something along the lines of ena and the rest of niigo being kind to her like the outing never happened, so mizuki was happy, and because theyre kind people. but it wasnt about them being kind at all, it was the fact mizuki probably really believed theyd all be ashamed of her and try to forget that it ever happened and go back to being the “normal girl group” who like to make music with eachother. “gomen…” mizuki’s apology for just not telling ena sooner, and that she had to find out this way, i dont understand how we can dumb that down to the lowest point just for shits and giggles, (sorry if youre not fond of swears mod), when it held so much behind it even if you dont understand it. an apology isnt something to make fun of, lighthearted or not, think about it - youre a transfem who held your biggest secret from one of the people you wish to be closest to yet dont even believe you could consider the bond between the two of you to be even simply labelled as “friendship,” and just got outed by your bullies to that same person. they look at you confused, but all you see is disgust and you feel shame for not saying anything sooner, having feared this exact moment. so you run, and then you apologise. you apologise for not saying something about your identity which is COMPLETELY valid to stay quiet about. how would you feel in that situation ???
aside from everything, boiling mizuki down to gender isnt okay even if her gender is a vital part of her character and is what makes her who she is and her representation special. just wanted to say this because i havent seen anyone else who would, and even if im stopping here theres much more - to the point i could go on for days, for the amount of times over the years of this game where mizuki was boiled down to gender, before mizu5 or after. ill stop after this, but even before the game came out, mizuki was displayed with they/them pronouns just for her character profile to keep her story a surprise. no. this didnt mean she was nonbinary, she probably would dress more neutral rather than feminine. and now the #sheherformizuki all over twitter and more, if the fandom maybe shut up about pronouns of a literal character, and you let the story progress on its own without harrassing for incorrect use of pronouns to a “nonbinary character,” forcing people who even created that character and know more about her than you do, to use they/them, just MAYBE mizuki would have been outright addressed by she/her all along. because i know in beta she was she/her, but this fandom absolutely demolished colopale for they/them over ONE pronoun (“them”) which was just there to keep you left on edge and intrigued about mizukis character.
thanks and bye. please get good prsk fandom im seriously ashamed. to all those genshin fans that came and anyone remotely similar, you know who you are, i beg you to leave or just shut up about stuff which people can rant on about like this…
